Hi
Does anyone know of any weekend getaways - with the kids. Happy to try camping or cabins.

We have stayed at the Hastings Point caravan park (it is a big 4), not sure of the exact name sorry. We stayed in a cabin and it was great, it is really good for the kids, they have their own indoor play centre that is supervised on weekends and holidays, great swimming pools, playground, is straight across the road from the beach.
It was featured on The great outdoors a few weeks ago. We were there when they were filming so got to see Tom Williams up close, yummy.

Thanks, sounds just what we're looking for. Is Hastings Point near Noosa?

Hey, I stayed at the Big 4 caravan park in Forest Glen which is near Buderim, Caloundra, Noosa. We stayed in one of the cabins, it was great!! I wish my bub was bigger, they had mini golf a giant slide going into the heated pool, a big jumping pillow, which is like a permanent jumping castle without the sides, a big playground and also a big open field for playing soccer etc. There were also camping sites just with the bathroom part on it, which i thought was a great idea. It is on the same road as the Super Bee and The Bellingham Maze. Hope you have a good holiday!!

Bundaberg is 4 hours north of Brisbane but has al sorts of accomodation and stacks to do. The turtles at Mon Repo are amazing but you need patience to wait whilst they find them.

They are great, but only there in summer. Check it out before going, would be disappointing for you to come all this way out of season.:D

I second Moreton. We go there often and stay in the villas. They are rather expensive if you book through the resort, but you can also book through people who privately own them in the paper and they are very reasonably priced. We have a great time and so do the kids!:)

Make sure you check out www.wotif.com.au for great last minute rates.
And I third Moreton... you really feel like you're a million miles from Brisbane. Although accommodation is expensive and food is not cheap either - check out www.tangalooma.com it was still worthwhile. Next time we think we'll take the 4wd and camp (waiting for the weather to warm up though, cold showers in winter doesn't sound too good for our bedtime routine!)

Hastings Point is in Northern NSW, about 1.5hrs drive south from Brissie, about .5hr from Gold Coast.
How old are your kids? Sounds like most Big 4 caravan parks have great facilities for children.
