Family tragedy strikes Sea Eagles
14:22 AEST Fri Sep 11 2009

A shadow has been cast over the NRL finals after Manly forward Glenn Hall's wife tragically gave birth to a stillborn baby on Thursday night.
Hall rushed from the Sea Eagles camp in Melbourne after his wife Kylie developed complications with her pregnancy which resulted in a stillborn baby boy, Lachlan Mark Hall.
"Kylie and I are grateful to the family and friends who have extended their thoughts and prayers at this most difficult of times," Hall said in a statement issued by the club.
"We would ask that our privacy be respected and that, instead of sending flowers, well-wishers can make a donation through www.stillbirthfoundation.org.au."
Hall, who played in last year's grand final victory, will miss Friday night's qualifying final against Melbourne at Etihad Stadium after originally being named on the bench.
"My immediate concern is for Kylie at this moment," Hall said.
"We thank my team-mates for their love and understanding."
The Sea Eagles players will wear black armbands as a mark of respect.

That's so sad :(

Is this the same player who's wife was going to be induced on the 16th? (I don't follow football so don't remember the name)

No its not... I am so glad that everything went okay with that lady because imagine... just IMAGINE how you would feel to get induced for something as ridiculous as football, and have such a horrible horrible complication... how could you ever forgive yourself?

This is such a tragedy, stillbirth is my greatest fear in life and its what has stopped me from becoming a midwife.

I really really really hope that they will find peace and understanding with what has happened.

Argh. I don't know why I read these threads, I always end up sobbing!
