I've have been using a safe n sound capsule in the car for DD2 3mths up until now but she has just gone into a brace (Dennis Brown Bar) for hip dysplacia and no longer fits into the capsule so I have now fitted our car seat rear facing (prefer the capsule coz you can take it in and out the car). It seems DD will be sitting more upright than in the capsule. She has good head control so it is not an issue I'm just wondering if that is correct, I can't see how it could be fitted differently but just wondering if in rear facing car seats (the type that can then be turned to be front facing) do sit the baby up on more of an angle.

hope that all makes sense.

I have a turn a tot car seat that goes rear or forward facing, and in rear mode it sits him at a similar angle to me on the lazyboy. Not quite as cradled as some of the capsules I've seen, but still not as upright as, say, a pram.

HI,
My daughter as been in a rear facing car seat since birth. She is now 3 months old and has a brace on as well. I find since she has had the brace on, she sits quite upright and sometimes I think she is going to topple over! I never noticed her doing this before she had the brace on. My feeling is for my daughter that it is the brace somehow that is making her sit like that as she never did it before the brace was put on.
My daughter also just squeezes into our car seat with the brace on. We have a compaq deluxe and her poor little legs stick out something shocking. I'm thinking we may need to buy another seat very soon.....
