What did you put your kidlets in to go to bed after you stopped wrapping?
DS has started to brake out of his wrap during the night, once the 2 weeks are over im thinking its time to stop wrapping him. Now that he doesnt smack himself in the head & wake up.

have you tried sleeping bags esp if its cold where you are? i never really wrapped coop as he didnt like being wrapped but a sleeping ba was good as i knew he would always be warm.

Havent tried anything other than wrapping. They still need to be wrapped pretty tight for another to weeks.
Its starting two warm up during the day (dont need a heater on), most nights we still have a heater on somewhere in the house.

maybe wrap him while he is in a sleeping bag. at least arms will be free if thats how he keeps escaping. if you did that with all of them, at least they would all still be warm during the night and their arms are free. other than that, maybe just try and ride out the next 2 weeks.
can i ask why they have to be wrapped? is it coz they were born so early? i really got no idea sorry

Ack trying to figure out how old they are now by your signature ... Its late, I am sleep deprived & old :o:laughing:
Ok I would still be trying to keep him wrapped longer than 2wks because whilst they do learn to break out of them which means a change in technique they still have the startle reflex for a few more months ...
That means that he will wake himself during his sleeps as he will startle ... That seriously doesnt look spelt right hrrrmmm but nope its right ... Anywhos see rambling I am so tired lol ...
That being said maybe he wont either so you have sleeping bags which is what I used on Boof as he didnt stay wrapped too long as he was never keen & he was so freaking huge I got fed up using a cot sheet to do so !
If you check out the Grobags they have the summer versions which means it will be easier to have him in that & not have to worry about blankets either !

grow bags, i couldnt think of what they were called so thanks for the reminder ally. i think thats a great idea of going with the grow bags esp with summer coming along as all the sleeping bags i have seen are pretty much for winter and you dont want to overheat them.

Their almost 4 months, 1 month corrected. Need to wrap tightly to make sure muscle strength is at its best.
I just went in to get T to feed her & both J & A had busted out. J had both arms out & out like a light.

Either can we. Cause they didnt get squished up time on the inside (kind did cause of the population). When they were fresh & until not long ago, every time we unwrapped them arms & legs would just flop out to their sides like a starfish. Hence the pretty bl00dy tight wrapping to strengthen the muscle's that hold the limbs in.
Their pretty good now, have a physio assessment on the 23rd.

is it with all multiples or all bubbas depending on how long they were cooking for?
i hope the physio goes well for them. i am sure many of us can help squish them together with all the cuddles we could give, such squishy little bubbas, love it:D

With Prems earlier than 35ish weeks, also depends on their birth weight. It doesnt start to get squishy on the inside till about 35 weeks (they were 7 weeks old then). While they are in humidi cribs they arent wrapped, so was about a month before they had any blankets on them.

We use Grobags and love them. I have a friend who uses them but her baby still wakes himself up with his arms so she wraps his arms with a wrap around the grobag.

:iagree: This is what we did with DD. Now she just sleeps in pjs cause she rolls all over the cot during the night and we didn't want her to get tangled.
I wrapped my son til he was about 10 months old. I found if he was starting to escape either the wrap was too small (I ended up using flat cot sheets) or the material was too stretchy.
Once I did stop wrapping I put him in sleeping bags - initially the snugtime 0.5 tog (summer weight) bag. He stayed in sleeping bags til he was over 2.

I wrapped dd until around 6.5mths and then into grobags (well I got some wahm ones from ebay, summer & winter and they are great and about 1/3 of the grobag price)
If you wanted to still wrap, have you tried a miracle blanket? We used this with dd and it was brilliant, you sort of wrap the arms first and then wrap bub. Dd couldnt get out

I found this aswell when they got too big for the wraps they started breaking free... Solution was flannel cot sheets lol. I have also heard of ppl just getting some material from spotlight. He is 6 and a half months and only just stopped wrapping but still needs a blanket to hold onto while he sleeps.
DS 17 months was only wrapped for about 4 weeks, he hated it. Since then he has been in a Grobag sleeping bag and has slept like well a baby ;).
Hey TT, I recommend a sleeping bag. I got mine from www.thedreambag.com.au, they are really cute and practical.
You can keep their arms down inside the bag incase they still wake themselves up from face-mashing like my DS annoyingly still does.

I use a Bubbaroo sleeping bag which is great. It has a zipper down the front as is very secure for DS.
I initially used a cheaper bag from Target with snaps at the shoulders and zipper under the arm but it just wasn't as good. DS got tangled and the snaps would pop open. Also the lining seems to be separate from the the outside and moves too much.
Good luck with whatver you choose.
PS Bubbaroo also do swaddling wraps which kiddies can't get out of which might be useful for your little ones.

i also highly recommend the bubbaroo - ive tried to grobags and others but i prefer bubaroo becuase they are aussie made and the bags are actually low fire rated .. as opposed to a grobag i have which has a lovely massive red tag on it!
i got the medium weight bags and just adjust what i put Jax in at night time depending on the temp.
before i moved to a bag i used a kiddopotamus 'swaddleme' wrap - it has velcro which helped keep him wrapped but he just wasnt in to it.
TT you have given me such knowledge with a lot of your posts - i really had no idea about triplets and some of the prem issues you have dealt with .. thanks :)
