Moving from NZ to the Gold Coast

Hi all
I'm orignally from Melbourne but moved to NZ when I was 10. Now finally decided to move back to Australia but don't know anyone yet in the Gold Coast. Am wondering if there are many playgroups around near Ashmore/Benowa area. I don't know Gold Coast too well so am excited, but also a little anxious about the move. My daughter Caitlin is 13 months old and would love to make some new friends too.

I'm 28 years old and a stay at home mum. WOuld love to hear from other mums.

Congrats on your move to the GC. When are you making the move?
There are lots of playgroups around the Ashmore/ Benowa area - best to go to playgroupaustralia.com.au and go to the gold coast section - heaps to choose from.
There are also library book reads that you can take any age child to or the girls on bubhub meet up nearly every week too (at parks, playcentres etc).
There is a new playgroup that has started up in Labrador (5 min drive from Ashmore) for over 12 months and I hear of new ones starting all the time.
I have a 17 month old and have only started going to playgroups myself - everyone has been so lovely it makes me wish I had started going earlier.

Hey there, I've not long moved to the goldcoast from NZ, i havn't been to any playcentres around here but know of a few, most suburbs have one or two, feel free to PM me if you wanna chat, i'm always keen on making new friends

Im from NZ too-CHCH!!Moved here in dec.
Im 22,with a 8 month old son Riley.Ive never been to a playgroup here,but the GC girls have weekly meets which is great-all the girls are lovely!

Thanks for your quick replies. It's comforting to know that there are many playgroups and new people I can meet. I am moving to the Gold Coast next Monday so only a few more days to go. After I have settled in I will try and get to some of these weekly meetings. Hope to see you all sometime.
