How often do you get sick?

As a parent how often do you get sick?

I'd had gastro twice this year and I had nasty flu like illnesses twice. I think I've had a cold once as well. Work makes me feel SO bad for taking sick leave, but when I'm sick I just can't work - flu's and cold's knock me flat for days.

I know some people who say they never get sick, that isn't a concept I can understand as I feel like I'm always catching something.

My ds isn't in childcare but he does go to playgroup and music group once a week.

Do you think that as parents (especially of toddlers) we get sick more often? Does anyone else get sick this much?

Yep, I've had gastro,colds flu's etc since having DD and she has picked them up from child care... I think I was the worst in the house with gastro too...

I feel sick all the time but it never leads to anything. It drives me insane!

last year i was constantly sick from coop catching everything from daycare and then sharing with me. this year i have had gastro once or twice and thats really it apart from my own illness. coop is hopefully over all his daycare illness as he hasnt really been sick at all since about may i think. maybe the odd runny nose and thats it and i hope we continue down this road of non illness.

Very rarely, same with my daughter. She's been in childcare since 1.5 years old, and I've been back working in childcare since then (pretty much the last 11 years in childcare other than an 18 month break with DD when we attended playgroup, music group and ABA meetings) and neither of us get sick much. I've had gastro 3 or 4 times since having her, she's had it roughly the same amount of times, neither of us has had the flu, we get the odd mild cold from time to time and have had quite nasty colds a couple of times. That's it! We just hardly ever get sick :smiliedance:

I got through this year with one throat infection and that is it. DD had a few sniffles as she is in school but we did pretty well this year.

i hardely ever get sick- i dont have time, my DH on the other hand seems to be sick every damn month, and my DS isnt to bad- but everytime i feel like a bit of me sick time my family gets sick so i suck it up.

i might get sick 3 times a year if that even when DH and DS are sick i dont seem to catch what they have.

my DH likes the attention on him so if anyone coughs as such all of a sudden within hours his sick lol- his a real pain to the point i no longer have sympthay for him as his always sick
