View Full Version : Sore Nipples
Is it just me or did anyone else have excuritatingly sensetive and sore nipples from only 6 months pregnant.
I have to have them covered at all times and hth cold is sooo not good for them. I even have to wear a crop top to bed otherwise the movement of my PJs wakes me with the pain from my Nipples.
Is this normal and if so did you breast feed and did you have any trouble.

I'd advise you to start using Lansinoh (or any other brand name nipple cream) now, to prepare your nipples for breastfeeding. It would be a real shame if you gave up breastfeeding because of sore nipples - it is sore for most people in the first few weeks, but if you have the right attachment and good advice, it ALWAYS gets better.

I have tried Lanoslin and the pain that gave me for my nipples was excrucitating. Is it supposed to sting? It took a good half hour for the pain to calm down.

Do they have any irritation on them? As in are they inflamed at all?
My nipples haven't really seemed to change. they have gotten dark and slightly bigger but that is to be expected.

If this happened to me during pregnancy, to be quite honest I would try to get an appointment with a Lactation Consultant. It can't hurt to be totally prepared.

I agree with The Queen here. Start with your midwife or GP and ask them to recommend a LC. If you are having your care at a hospital, they will have access to one. Have this sorted now before bub arrives.
I am planning to see one this week.
Just thought I would get others experiences
