False ovulation?

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this thread. DF and I have a beautiful 10 month old DD and have been TTC #2 for about 1 month.

I got AF on the 16th August, stopped my pill around the 21st of august and AF came back for 2-3 days (25th, 26th, 27th). I have done my ovulation tests everyday since the 1st September. Yesterday it finally came up that I was ovulating (about 2 weeks later than I expected) so we did some baby making last night, tonight and tomorrow night probably then AF would be due on the 13th of this month. I checked CM aswell and it was like egg whites so theoretically I was or am ovulating. I guess what I'm asking is can you have the symptoms of ovulation and have positive ovulation tests but not actually ovulate?

I'm sorry if it sounds like a silly question but I have no idea!

some ladies can get false positives on the test but not usually with ovulation symptoms, after coming off the pill it can take a little bit for our bodies to adjust so i would say yes you did ovulate or about too. Remember with the opk's the egg releases 6-36 hours after you get a positive so i would continue bd for a couple of days just to cover your bases. Good luck

Thanks so much for your response. We will be bding tonight and tomorrow night aswell just to be sure.. With our 1st it was extremely hard because I had absolutely no AF or symptoms so at least this time I have a slight lead into things!

i started using OPK's this month and got two false positives along with other O signs. think i finally O'd yesterday. this time had the signs but got a -ve OPK test! in saying that, others i have talked to on here have had them work most of the time. Also I'm having problems with long irregular cycles so think my hormones are all over the place.

its a good idea to temp as well as then you will definitely know that you have O'd.
