Is there a good fold out there for a one yr old to wear? DD has been walking for about a month and i had to put disposables on her. When she had Cloth on she was not walking(found it difficult) and when i put the others on she walks everywhere.
Has anyone else found this a problem with their pre walkers...

What type of cloth nappies are you using?

I used terry flats on my 3 kids with the kite fold and never found it a problem. Just tuck the sides in a bit before you bring the bottom up to reduce some of the bulkiness.

Both of mine learnt to walk whilst in cloth - just the terry flats, with the kite fold. Like the PP, I used to just fold the bits around their legs in when securing the nappy, so that there was less bulk around thier legs.

DD walked at 15mths, and DS was running at 11mths, and they had no problems....

Sorry I cant help more!

My DD was a late walker (14 months) but I don't think it was because of the nappies - must be lazy! I think the Jo fold would be good because it's not too restrictive around the legs (but kite fold with sides tucked in is a similar shape too). I figure many generations of babies have managed to learn to walk with terry nappies, so they must get used to it somehow! :)

my dd uses terry with an extra half nappy folded into pad for more absorbtion. i use a kite olf and tuck the legs in then put the pad on and do up. she waddles a little abut wakls fine in them. you just have to perseve with the cloth and they can walk about fine in them. she has been walking since 8 months so it isn't the nappy that is slowing her down.

Thanks for all the replies. I will put them on her when she gets up and see how we go. I use the fluffies covers or velcro ones, will that be easy for her.
I have some eenee nappies , so i will give those a go.

Thanks again

Hi,
Just noticed the post, My oldest son was in cloth and walked at 10 months OMG.
I was lazy with the others they were in disposibles and they walked later.
I dont think it matters children walk when the walk.
