i am considering this too, as i've just found out that the obst. i wanted will charge over $6,000 at POWP. ouch. and with the pending changes to medicare, will probably only get $200 back. double ouch. i am really keen to know if it's possible to go as private patient to RHW and how this works.

Well i'm a twit! I spoke to one of the obst. secretary's that delivers at both hospitals, and she pointed out that as i'm fully covered for hospital costs, no reason for me to go public as private patient as obst. fees are same. doh!
