DD1 is a very strong willed charater. She simply refuses to wash her hands after going to the toilet. I've tried bribery, asking nicely, getting cross, explaining that we need to wash the germs away. The only way I can get her to the bathroom sink is by force (holding her hand and if that doesn't work, I have to pick her up and carry her).

Anyone had a child do this? How did you overcome it?

I have the same problem as iamlillysmummy!! X3!! LOL!

...monkeytoes, have you tried the palmolive (think the brand is) soap for kids? The pump it comes in squishes the soap out in foam form - the kids LOVE it - I just kept the pump and refill it with my choice of soap (half soap/half water).

Have you got a little step for her? Maybe let her put the plug in and have a little splash and pull the plug out, you know - let her have a little control over it? A special hand towel just for her?

Keep on with the explainin the germs might make her and other people around her sick.

good luck x

I'd be enforcing the "dirty hands don't touch food" rule, so if she hasn't washed her hands after a toilet trip, she can't eat until she goes and washes them.
