Ok i need advice ( yet again ).
I took Boof with me when i had my hair done last week & planned to get his hair cut as my cousin does my hair so thought it would be nice that he did his first cut.
Anyways Boof hates, even loathes any male besides Daddy coming near him so the fact that anytime my cousin even looked his way Boof burst into tears pretty much had that idea out the window !
Now the thing is i actually really really like his curls but have started getting fed up with people assuming he is a girl !!! Strange considering the size of him & what i dress him in but anyways people are silly at times
So what do i do ?
Ive got a poll going on so please tell me what you guys think !
Should a little boy still have longish hair with gorgeous girls or is that too feminine ?
Dont get me wrong i didnt think i would allow his hair to get long but since it has im in love with it !
Maybe thats just me secretly wanting a girl LOL !

Seriously if you like it longish then why cut it ?

My eldest boy had his first big boy hair cut at age three until then he had blonde ringlets and it looked adorable. Sort of a clean toddler version of 'surfie boy' LOL

My baby boy is now 25m and has only had is fringe trimmed to keep it out of his eyes. This one doesn't have curls just slight waves so I'm not sure if I'll keep it until age 3 but at the moment he is cute and I'm not in a rush for him to loose his 'baby' hair. :D

The beautiful baby hair that is soft and adorable disappears so quickly and I'm not in any rush to hasten it :crying: Mine lot seem to grow up so quickly it's like they have their feet in manure. ;) LOL

I say cut it, he should look like a boy, although that really depends how long his hair actually is. If you dont mind people mistaking him for a girl, then maybe just tidy it up and keep it a bit long. Its up to you.

Leave it and put him in a dress just to annoy people.

Okay - I'm just jealous if your boy actually has hair!!!

I've given mr 2 3 trims since he was 18months, but nothing before then. Even then only trims round the ears and at the nape - didn't think it was worth taking him to the hairdresser.

My boy now has beautiful long blonde hair on top. Although I wouldn't advocate cutting your own child's hair if he's got lots to cut - they get very distracted...

If you are sick of explaining to people that he is a boy, than cut it. After all "he can do what ever he wants.. but for now he has to do what you say" :D

Otherwise, keep the hair and take lots of photos you can show his future girlfriends.

It isnt that much Peg tis fairly fine blonde hair but is getting really long around his ears & he has a few longs strands at the front now so thats why i was like maybe he does need one.

Yes I think you should tidy it up a bit and take him to get a little trim. Not that I have seen his hair or anything, I just like neat tidy hair on kids.

Just a thought - I could send you the locks I've cut off my little one and then you can weave them into Boof's hair - then you can make a proper decision...

Ah - if you look quickly, I'll see if I can put up a piccie of my little one's lack of hair...

This one (in pooh bear outfit was from when he was 16months - had to put him in hooded clothes as he's got no hair.

Will do one more from his second birthday, so you can see he has some now!

I think it's why my little man seems to have a fetish for hats at the moment - does your little fellow have the same, or do you have to staple them to his head?

I say trim and neaten up. Why not get your cousin to cut it into a boys long haircut, rather than letting it look like it's growing long like a girl. So tidy up around the ears etc but leave some/most/all (depending on length) of the length on top and on the back so he can keep his curls?

My DD is 7 months old and I gave her her first haircut two nights ago (I got to my third year in an apprenticeship). I didn't take any length of, just tidied it up and cut off the long straggly bits. Her hair looks heaps better but all the length is still there (she has a fair bit of hair)

my cousin had georgous curls until he was 2 then my aunt cut his hair. it was devistating. he was so cute on minute the next he looked like a older child.

i love curls on boys or girls. so if you don't want to cut it thats fine with me. i would just trim up the front and the ears to make it look neat but let the back grow long.

Yeah im thinking i will go for a trim around the ears etc & leave the back !
Hopefully Baz agrees with it !
Cant get my cousin to do it will have to go see a female hairdresser just so he doesnt throw a wobbly lol ! He will enjoy getting to flirt so all will be good hehehe.

Peg - It depends really if its really cold he will happily keep his beanie on but if he gets hot its straight off !!!! Last summer we couldnt keep hats on him although the one in my avatar wasnt too bad maybe cause it had tigger on it hehehe.

My little boy had curls and at his forst hair cut they have never been let grow long enough to return. I did take photos of him so this is enough. My DH likes his hairlong but I like it neat and tidy. He hates mene too and it's painful to go to the Barber so we only go on the rare occasion so he doesn't have too many tantrums. I say the quicker the better.
