View Full Version : Up Her NOSE!!
Well we have just come back from the Emergancy Room at our local Hospital...The reason:detective:
DD shoved a corn kernal UP HER NOSE during dinner. And I mean right up it. To the point that you could only see a speck of yellow up her nose.
The nurses did a great job of extracting the blighter (it was the largest kernal I have ever seen:eek: you think she would have picked a smaller one!! )
When we were all done DD was given a knitted teddy bear, some plastic tweezers and a Bravery certificate. It was really cute. She now pretends to pick stuff out of teddy's nose with the tweezers:laughing:
BTW I'm saving the certificate for her 18th!! and she is banned from corn for the week!!

Oh dear, how scary, I'm glad she is ok and nothing too serious happened.
:hugs: to you and her!
A few months back DS2 stuck a sultana up each nostril while nobody was watching, then got upset cause he couldn't breathe properly and sucked them up further. Luckily my quick thinking DH used some tweezers to get what we thought was only one out, then about an hour later he sneezed and out came the other one - funny looking back, but scary at the time.

Oh no! Glad she's alright...And what a nice emergency room to give her something like that!
The number of times my little sisters stuck things up their noses when they were little....well, i've lost count. They didn't do it far though, 'cos we were always able to get them out with tweezers...mostly big beads and stuff.
Ah well, something to remind her of when she's older. At least you can laugh about it now....

My brother stuck a tic tac up my nose on a long car journey when we were little. We arrived at said destination and there was a nurse staying there who said don't worry, it will disolve (I had sniffed it up pretty far!) and it did!
At least it would have smelled nice Sal!!
When my brother was little (he's 42 now) he and a few mates were shooting watermelon pips at each other via their noses. One of them made my brother laugh real hard and he sniffed instead of blew. Mum had to take him up to emergency too. I think he freaked out because Mum had warned him that a watermelon vine would grow in his tummy if he swallowed one!
I'd be bringing that certificate out every time a boy comes around for her ... :D

Oh yes that certificate is going to come in really REALLY handy
She is lucky she is my child she would dread the day she did that ..... Ok i will shut up now because im sure that day is coming for us
When we were little my brother stuck blutak up his nose. Problem was the more he tried to get it out the further in it went! He ended up at the hospital..........again - he was there quite alot, self inflicted injuries. We used to bushwalk alot, and my parents have photos of him walking over rocks wearing a helmet, just incase he fell:laughing:
I'd be bringing that certificate out every time a boy comes around for her ... :D

That's a great idea!! Maybe I should get it framed:detective:
Shazbutt: It's a good emegancy room and the nurses are great. Only problem is they know DD by name now!! (We've had a fair few visits)

lol poor lil mite, glad they got it out ok
i remember with DD1, when she was only 3.5yrs, she stuck one of those pieces from that chinese memory game, very small thing, sort of looks like a lil mushroom, had to take her to the drs, he couldnt get it out, had to call in 2 others, they managed to get it, dd1 wasnt happy at all, and i have kept the culprit to show her when shes older

Ahhhhh the memories are flooding back to me now. My DD had a fascination with sticking things up her nose too. We have had about 6 tic tacs up one nostril, we had a flat head screw up another, peas etc. What a scary thing for them to do. But you can look back and laugh. She is now 11yo and I love reminding her of what she had done when she was little.
