Hi, I bought a trial pack of greens nappies. So far I love them but sometimes I find they are very bulky and I cant do up some clothing. Can anyone recommend a nappy that works well but is less bulky.
thanks

the fruit salad nappies are supposed to be slimmer than the greens..
where is Veve when you need her???
sorry - I"m here .. lol .. just doing lots of moderating stuff ..
I have a fruit salad nappy .. and I now refuse to use it .. I originally loved it .. but I find I cant stuff it!!! toooooo skinny .. I cant get more than one microfibre insert in .. and if I overstuff it .. it wicks terribly (the outer fabric gets wet... and then so do clothes)
my husband struggles to stuff the green nappies.. so he has no chance with the salad ones.. (Jack now has it as his 'play nappy' - the one he hugs and throws around while I change him :D
I have heard of other people loving the fruit salad nappies though ??? each to their own ..

Apparently the itti bitti nappy company have very trim nappies.
I have found that lots of baby clothes are designed for disposable'd bums. I just put DS in one size bigger clothing
I have a couple of itti bitti nappies and they are by far the most trim. See here. (http://www.ittibitti.net/) I tend to just buy the next size up in most clothes and make sure I go for something with a bit of room around the bum.
Itti Bitti's are fantastic - they aren't pockets though, you get either a fitted (and a cover over the top) or AIO's (the AIO's are in high demand ATM though).
If you like AIO's then the Rumpster is really great and super-trim. Nurture Nappies and Darlings Downunder sell them.

I love my Greens & dont have an issue with them being too bulky can i ask what your stuffing them with ?
I have found that just a microfibre insert does us 3-4hrs so only use hemp on a longer car trip or overnite. So only having that one insert does make them less bulky.
Ive heard good reviews about the Fruit Salad nappies but havent tried them myself.
I have some Swaddlebees which are very very trim but i find them frustrating also because they are so trim they will only take their own inserts apparently they have changed them a little to help with this problem. Otherwise they are a great nappy but im glad i didnt get them earlier as DS wouldve wet through them so much more than he is now.
Good luck hope you find what works for you :)
I use fruit salads and they are the trimest out of the pockets that I have. They are more narrow in the crotch width so it is harder to get your hand in there. My hubby can't stuff them but I don't have a problem. I stuff mine with a micro fibre cloth and a single layer of towel to stop stop compression leaks. I find that micro fibre works a lot like a sponge so when its wet and then gets compressed (sat on) the liquid squishes out of the cloth and is forced back onto the bottom or wicks through the cotten outer of the PUL onto the clothes. Having the extra layer of towel stops the compression leaks.
The next trimest that I have are Peenuts but they aren't being made any more as far as I know.
Sandras Stuffables and baby blooomers are bulky so you'll have the same problem with those ones.

Can I ask which microfibre cloth you use? I usually stuff with one of Big W's cloth with a hemp booster. This works well with no leaks, so just wondering which cloth you use, I may be able to cut back on my stuffing.

Thanks everyone for your help.
I use the hemp insert that came with the nappy and put the microfibre in as well at night. Maybe in future I will be careful of the clothes I buy so I wont have the problem. I want to buy more as now I am convinced it is the way to go. I was using huggies and aldis nappies but they both leak over night and these didn't. I don't like using flat nappies as bub only needs to do one wee and its everywhere. I think I will stick with greens now.
thanks again

i also use flats but i have cut some of my older terrys into halves and i fold that in half again then into 3 and place on the middle of my kite folded nappy (just like a pad) before i put it on bub. that way she doesn't wet through as quick. before i did that i would have to change her almost hourly. now we can get nearly 4 hours out of a nappy.
i use that when i have run out of pockets. i haven't got many yet, but i'm workng on it.

I use the microfibre you can get from Greens they are the right size to fit the nappy & are really thirsty. I got the pack of 50 cause we decided it was better to have more than enough especially when we first started & werent too sure whether we would need two inserts per nappy !

It's best if you get a booster from Brooke when you order your FSN. She makes them especially for her nappies so they fit perfectly. Try contacting her and letting her know you are having this problem.
Any problems you have with any nappy you can easily talk to the WAHM about it. They know their product backwards and can offer you heaps of advice.

Oh wow. I didn't know that you could do that. I must admit I tried it once, but it wasn't enough for my DD. So I figured you couldn't do it...
