You've got a good chance you'll be fine with a V/B, but if not don't worry, my C/S was FANTASTIC!:smiliedance:

Sweetie you are not technically overdue for another 11 days! I am sure you will be fine, your baby will come when it's ready..:D

I don't that size generally has anything to do with it. Our bodies are designed to have babies that can be pushed out by our bodies...of course, sometimes it doesn't work out well for whatever reason.
First time mothers are generally more likely to go overdue than they are to have premature babies...so try not to worry.
I had a c-section because I was overdue and didn't go into labour even after being induced 3 times (all failed)...but I was 42 weeks, not JUST OVER 40 weeks. Your baby doesn't have a calandar in there with him/her, and due dates are generally just an "estimate" anyway...so don't worry too much.
I have a girlfriend 149 cm she's just 45 kg and she had a 9lb 3oz baby girl natural at 43wks, 12 hour labour (a good hard days work) and only pethadine you'll be right :)

My mum was 155cms, weighed 48kgs, was a week overdue and pushed out a 9pounder in just over 8hours!
I don't think size matters!

I am also 163.5cm short (the 0.5 of a cm counts, by the way! LOL :p )
I was a bit heavier than you....But I birthed a 3lb 3.5oz baby vaginally with no tears.
You'll be fine. One way or another - you'll be fine!
While we're comparing bub sizes; My great grandmother was apparently very similar size to me (174cm, 50kg) when my grandfather was born. He was 14 pounds 10. Didn't stop her having 4 more kids!

I'm only 155cm and 48kg not that i think it has anything to with it, our bodies are made to give birth it is completly natural and shouldn't be looked at a being a medical procedure.... Also dont worry that you are over, the "normal" pregnancy term is 38-42 weeks....I've heard a staticstic that shows only 5% of women actually give birth on their due date..dont worry your bubbalouie will come when he's ready xx
I was induced with my first (10days over) which resulted in a long labor, all the drugs and literally seconds away from having a caeser (gave birth in theatre!) with my second i went through a birthing centre cause i didn't want to be pressured this time and it had scared me how close i was to having a caeser when it really wasn't necessary..ANYWAY i went overdue again and low and behold on the 11th day i had a 3.5 hour labor no drugs no stitches....unbelievable.....
You're the same age as me, i like to think young??!! YOu'll be GREAT, i'm not knocking caesers, its unreal we have the option if there is an emergancy:thumbsup:

You're the same size and weight as me and I had a vb, no worries.
But I don't think size has anything to do with it either.
Most of the tiny girls I know have had natural births! I'm a good 6 foot and robust and I had to have a c-section. You really really can't tell.
I'm a petite wee thing too and birthed two reasonably big uns for my build. A 3.5kg (7lbs 11ozs) sweetie and a lovely 3.7kg (8lbs 3ozs) sweetie. My DH's grandma is smaller than me and she vaginally birthed an 11 pounder (4.9kgs) and a 10.5 (4.7kgs) pounder. A woman's body can do amazing things! :D

I am 163cm and 51kg normally and i had a 9 lb 3 bub and an 8 1/2 bub both naturally. Only a couple of stitched with the first and none with the second. I am sure you will be fine. It is more to do with the size of your pelvis. If your OB isn't worried you shouldn;t be either.

I don't see why you will need a csection unless you go further over.... I had my first at 15, 155cm and was only just over 50 kilos.... had her naturally and she was almost 10pd!! Your size and height does not determine how you can birth your baby. Stay positive take it each day as it comes, keeping in mind all possiblities of the birth. Good luck!
