Hi Hervey Bay Mums,
My name is Kellie and my family and I have just moved to Hervey Bay from NZ. I am interested in joining or starting up a Mums social group.
I am 32, DH is 36 and DS is turning 3 on Sunday 6th Sept.
I started pram walking groups etc back in NZ which were great as I got to meet some awesome Mums and our son Jaxon made some cool friends.
I would love to meet Mums that enjoy meeting up for play days, wine afternoons, (my fav, lol) and other social activites.
Also in my other groups we even got the Dads involved and had sunday breakfasts, BBQs, etc and DH made some great friends this way too.
We did have lots of fun and hope that we can meet others that have the same interests. Its also great to have the odd night out too without the kiddies.
Anyway would love to hear from anyone that is interested and maybe we can organise our first meet up as soon as we have a few of us that are keen.
Anyway hope your all having a fantastic day and hear from you soon.

Hi there!!
I'm a Hervey Bay mummy. Welcome to the Bay!! I've lived here for 17 years now and just love it.
I'm a married 22 year old to a wonderful 24 year old husband with two beautiful little boys, Jaydee who turned 3 in July and Seth, 6 months :baby:.
We don't know many families with young children and we'd love to get to know some too. We would have done so by now if I had a license (I know! Very slack of me) so I can't really get to any playgroups in the Bay. I have been trying to locate some Bay mums on the internet but actually haven't had any sort of luck so far. My husband has also expressed that he would like to make some more friends with kids in the Bay too so would come along to any playdates (he also helps to keep one boy in line while I attend to the other lol)
I'm not much of a wine drinker lol but more so a beer or rum drinker like my husband hehe.
Hope we get some more people joining us soon
Ohh I also have to add that I live in Eli Waters at the moment too!! :)
Hi, I am new myself here in Hervey and would like to meet you and all your other great ideas...!!! My son is soon turning 2 and I am 38. Love to hear from you and others, who are interested, to meet you soon!! Have a fantastic day!!

Hi there JulieMatteo! Welcome to the Bay too, how are you enjoying it so far? There seems to be alot of people moving here lately.
Doesn't seem to be too many Hervey Bay'ers online. I've tried to find some more people on other parenting forums but haven't had any luck until now :)
yes i saw that. have fun to meet, maybe for a latte at enzos? cheers:wave:

OMG!!! You poor thing, that would have HAD to have been the worse thing to go through ever!! I'm glad you got the right baby in the end though.
Sorry I can't help you but will always keep my ears out for a Rebecca that might fit this category.
I had my son at that hospital in July that year, I couldn't imagine what I'd feel if I was told they mucked up and I have the wrong child
Best of luck with it, hope you find her!!

Thats shocking!! Have u tried asking at the hospital again or wont they give any information out? Try asking on Facebook on the Hervey Bay mums group also.
Good luck. Glad that you got your wee man back in the end.

Hi everyone. Im really sorry. I started a post months ago now when we first arrived in the Bay and forgot all about this site as i got pretty busy and ended up putting my son Jaxon into fulltime daycare and getting a casual on call job which has kept me pretty busy. IN the meantime we have still not met any other families and our life is pretty boring apart from work and the weekends the three of us hang out.
Anyway Im hoping there are still some Mums out there that would love to meet up one Sunday in the near future at a park or have a BBQ or picnic or any other ideas someone might have.
Maybe for the first meetup we keep it pretty simple??
Be good on a Sunday then the partners can be involved as well and the kids can play. Make it a family outing.
Even if it was at the pools.
Once we all get to know each other then we can start having bbqs at home etc. Be lots of fun:)
If anyone is keen email me on kellverona@hotmail.com
Im also on facebook so check it out.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Even if you dont have a partner it doesnt matter. Its a good op to meets some friends and maybe some other single Mums.
Also age is not a problem either. We all have kids so already have one thing in common:)
Have a great day everyone.
Hey mums,
Im moving to HB in 3 weeks now....from NSW via Townsville. Hubby and I are expecting baby2 in April (couple of weeks after we get there!!) and baby1 has just turned 1!
Anyone with tips on good locations to rent (big yards!) and ideas for activities for little boys, mummies and dads!
I posted in the Sunshine Coast area but have since discovered HB is "too far north" on the coast! (Ha! coming from tnsvl its south!)
Hope to hear from anyone who is interested in catching up!
:p

DH and I are interested in meeting up with anyone at a park or somewhere too!!
We have two boys, one is turning 4 in July and the other is turning 1 in April. DH and I don't know too many families here in the Bay either even though we've been here for quite some time. Our 'school' friends haven't gone down the family path yet and it'd be good to know some people that we have that in common.
Anyone have Facebook? We could add eachother on there? I'm also on the Hervey Bay's mothers group so I might have seen some of you on there.
Or you could PM me on here, don't mind... just say hello! :D

I might do some personals ...
JaxonsMummy - I'll add you to FB now .. I too forget about these sites.
smithys - Hi there! I used to live in Townsville before moving here 18 years ago. I know quite abit about the Bay and where the spots are but I think it all comes down to personal choice and experience. I'd be happy to have a chat about it with you. If you have FB you can send me a msg on there, PM here or even email me at ehaydoprice@hotmail.com
Oh and some things you and your kiddies can do is :
The new waterpark - it has a great little tot area and is heaps of fun for the kids. Great way to cool down in the heat too. It's free too!
There's a few parks along the Esplanade and the beach is fantastic all the way along. Can't really think of much for real the real young ones.
As for the mummy and daddys, there's the cinemas to see a movie, a few pubs to have a drink or meal at if you're a drinker. Lot's of restuarants and shops. There's whale watching when it's the season for it, Fraser Island which has some beautiful scenery and things to do. That's all I can think of right now lol...

Don't know if anyone stil checks this but if anyone does has there been a playgroup setup or anything like that. Names Jamie i'm 30 have a little girl aged 13 months we just moved here from NZ and now that i've got the hang of this looking after the house stuff i'm looking for something to do while my wifes at work. She's 31 (and will probably kill me for that) and we wouldn't mind meeting some more people round here. Altho we are only here for another month then moving on to Gladstone.
Hi Jamie, my Partner and I moved here with our daughter (now 16 months) in March last year from NZ. We have found it really hard to meet people here but are still keen to.

Hi all!
Looks like there has been a fair amount of people saying they'd like to join/start a mothers group or playgroup here in Hervey Bay. Has anything happened yet? We've recently moved here and my 3.5yr old son and I would be keen to meet more people by going to a group once a week or so, happy to host at our place sometimes if that suits, or organise trips to Wetside, playgrounds, beach, etc.
Let me know, thanks!
Jo.

Bugger - just moved to Gladstone. Went to the kidzone i think it was but felt a bit weird, walked in with my daughter and all these mums just looked at me like what are you doing here without your wife, then continued to look at me like i was a weirdo for the next hour or so. I stuck it out cos my daughter was seeming to enjoy it - even if the other kids weren't really allowed to play with her which was a shame.
Anyways hope you lot all have fun, got to find some people in Gladstone now, or maybe just go back to work and put my little one in daycare :(

Well sounds like there's plenty of interest, and I still haven't managed to find a pre-existing one that's free yet! So how about we get one started.
Wednesdays suit us best in general, so how about we organise to meet at 9am this coming Wednesday the 2nd of Feb at the new indoor playground and we can go from there.
Here's what their website (http://www.cylex.com.au/company/kidzone-play-centre-17727392.html) says:
KidZone Play Centre provides hours of fun for children on a three level play structure featuring slides, swings, tubes, ladders, climbing frames and net walkways. Toddlers are specifically catered for with their own play area away from the rough and tumble of the bigger kids. Mums, dads and carers can spend a relaxing time watching over their kids with a great coffee and an ever changing menu of snacks and meals. Kid Zone Play Centre in Hervey Bay opened on 11 January 2011 and fills a void in the kids activity scene in the area. KidZone also has a large party room for birthday or other special event parties for children. With gifts, games, prizes, balloons and food all provided, you don't need to do anything except book the time and date and send out your little one's invites. We're open 6 days a week, closed Mondays for a rest and to check on cleaning, maintenance and safety. No need to book, find us at Unit 4/79 Islander Road in Pialba between Beach Road and Nissen Street.
Post here or PM me if you're interested in coming so I know whether to expect others so we can figure out how to recognise each other.

Hi, Im sure the Mums were probably looking at you thinking WOW what a cool Dad, taking their daughter to kidzone. I think its fantastic!!! SUPERDAD. I wouldnt worry about it. Its a big job being an at home parent thats for sure so your doing a fantastic job.
Good luck in Gladstone. Hope you find a group. Maybe you can start one up yourself for Dads??? Might be lots of Dads out there in the same situation as you. ??
Anyway good luck.
