My little girl (9 months) has always been a good night sleeper. My problem is day sleeps. When she was 6 months, we switched her from having 3 sleeps to 2 sleeps. That worked, because instead of having 3 40min sleeps she started having 2 1 1/2 hour sleeps. But over the past month she is cat napping again. She still seems fairly happy but its driving me nuts. She does sleep for nearly 13 hours at night so I don't expect miracles!!

Does anybody have any suggestions as to what may help. I'm going crazy! (I went away over the weekend and she was a little angel for my hubbie. She had big sleeps for him! I told him that I'm going back to work and he can stay home with her!)

At least your little girl sleeps through the night, my twins are 8 months old and i have yet to experience that pleasure.

The cat naps may be a new phase they are going through, my suggestion would be to try and resettle when she wakes up. On the other hand if she is happy the way she is then go with the flow, their sleeping patterns will change again.

Good luck:)

my 10 month old will wake 2 or 3 times a night most nights. (we get an occaisonal one where she sleeps through til about 5 then wants to play. during the day is is a right little monkey to get to sleep. we usually only have 1 sleep for no more than an hour. if i am lucky she might have 2 - but then she won't go to bed until 9 or 10 pm.

now that i have said this, my little darling has climbed up onto the lounge and fallen asleep - no bottle and no cuddles. but :yelclap: :yelclap: :yelclap:

now if only i could get her to do that at night time it would be great.

My DD occasionally has big sleeps during the day, but her normal pattern is 3 naps which can be for 20 mins (mostly) or up to 2 hours (rarely).
However, she sleeps through at night from 7.30 - 6.
So I figure yah :smiliedance: I get good night sleep and I go with the flow during the day
However, if it really is a problem maybe you could try talking to some of the family groups that help with sleeping - in WA there is Ngala.

Try walking her in a sling. Almost foolproof. Sometimes puts DS to sleep even if he's not tired! Once she's out cold, you can slip out of the sling and pop her in bed.

The other is to go for a walk just before you want her to nap. Fresh air and outdoors, and the stimuli from checking out the neighbourhood settles DS and makes him nice and tired when we get home.

He was the worst catnapper only 2 months ago - some days he'd only have 2 naps about 30mins each. Plus he still doesn't sleep through - he's only just cut back to 1-2 feeds a night. He now has 3 naps a day, with a 2hr nap in the middle of the day some days!

And last night he slept from 1:30am through to 7am. The third longest stretch he's ever slept (12hrs straight after the birth, then he slept for 7hrs one night at 4months). He won't take a bottle at all, so I felt great this morning!!!! :yelclap:
