Does anyone know of anyone who can do a pregnancy massage???? I am in southern river, but happy to drive 10 hours to find one...ok, well maybe thats a slight exageration but.....

i booked into the local beauty place, but when i got there, get this, they told me they didnt have a table with a hole in it for the stomach so wouldnt be able to massage.

DUH!

talk about dissapointed...oh well, i will keep trying!

I'm a massage therapist with extra training in Pregnancy Massage (sorry I'm in Brisbane), but I don't use a table with a hole in it - as it puts too much strain on the ligaments/back. I massage all pregnant women from 13wks on their sides - it's harder for me to do it that way - but much more comfortable for client.

Find a therapist who has specific pregnancy massage training - try googling "pregnancy massage perth" - a few came up but I don't know anyone personally.

Good luck with your search. :fingerscrossed:

I know of a place in Applecross, and I am pretty sure they do massage on pregnant women. I think they have a chair you sit in. I know a lady about 8 months pg had a massage there. I think they do bowen therapy-not sure what that is?:( Will try to find out some more details and let you know. Sorry, I don't think I have been much help!!

If all else fails look in the yellow pages!! I found it, on page 1606 L-Z. Right down the bottom under the bold heading APPLECROSS. Here is their number... 9316 4650. I went there about 9 months ago (not pg), to fix my neck, and they were fantastic!! Hope I could help this time!!
PS If Applecross kitchens are still across the road they make the BEST homemade pies!!!
PPS please let us all know if they are any good!

Subi Sports Massage, in Subiaco. They do a range of massage, from gentle relaxation through to deep tissue. My husband went weekly for deep tissue and I went periodically both when pregnant and afterwards. If you call to book in let them know that you're pregnant (and how pregnant!) as not all the ladies there have training or experience for pregnant bodies.

Hey guys

My mum does this but she is located down in Dunsborough. If you can find it I totally recommend getting a Huna Massage. Pregnancy massage when done properly is laying on each side with pillows to prop you to a comfortable position and then the last turn is flat on your back with a roll under the knees to relief pressure on the back. So anyone travelling down south for holidays PM me and I'll give you the details. I hope I don't get in trouble for advertising let me know if this is against the rules. Mum has done pregnancy massages on me already and they are just beautiful!

Armadale Hospitals' Antenatal Bulletin Board has a flyer about pregnancy massages. Give them a call and I'm sure they can give you the ladies number.
