Hi all Im a newbie to this site so just learning the ropes.
I came off the pill at the very end of my last packet I took all the active ones and skipped the placebos I did have a fake period that lasted 2 days
now I have cramps and a bit of light spotting and Im exhausted. I have been on the pill for about 3 1/2 years. Is it normal to have cramps and spotting? can anybody shed some light on this situation...I have heard that it is possible to fall pregnant straight away and sometimes it might take a while for you body to get back to normal... But no one ever mentions what kind of symptoms they have after coming off it...

Viperpt - in order to better answer your question, do you know exactly what day you are up to. If day 1 was the first day of your period, what day are you up to now? And how long were your cycles before going on the pill?

When I took my last pill I had the 'withdrawl' bleeding about 4 days later. It lasted for about 4 days from memory.

Since then I have had no bleeding or ovulation (it has been 4 months) but that is another topic!

It is possible to get pregnant straight away, some studies report heightened fertility right after coming off the pill and many do ovulate straight away.

Hi there :)

I came off the pill halfway through the packet - I had a withdrawel bleed that lasted a few days. I got pregnant on the first cycle - I have heard that there is heightened fertility just coming off the pill......

Hope you get a BFP!!!

Hi I was taking Levlen also - have been off it for 6 months now. My cycles have not been too bad but it did take a couple of months for me to get my cycles back to normal and I am still waiting for my BFP. I have heard your 1st month off the pill is sometimes very fertile so good luck! But I have also been told that you should take folic acid for at least a couple of months before ttc after the pill - because the pill seriously depletes your folic acid levels. Good luck :)

Hi there  . This is my third cycle off Levlen ED. My first cycle was 28 days in length, the next one was 43 (or so) and I am now on my third. I have been charting my temperatures this cycle and fertility friend thinks I have ovulated which is a good sign. My obstetrician said that it is possible to get pregnant on the first cycle. But then, it can take a while for things to return to normal. The first cycle off the pill was the worst I think. I had very sore breasts leading up to my first real AF (period) and I broke out in pimples. Didn't get too much cramping, but very heavy bleeding. The symptoms weren't as bad for the last AF. Hopefully things are settling down and that we conceive soon :fingerscrossed: . All the best.

I'm also an ex-Levlen ED girl.

I only got spotting from tri-cycling (skipping sugar pills & going straight onto next day to avoid af ;) ).

I stopped mine in Jan 06, & ovulated the next month (although a bit late), so hang in there & welcome to BubHub:wave: .

I came off Levlen in Feb and ovulated first cycle, but didn't concieve til the 3rd :). I suggest temp charting cause you probably have no idea when you are going to ovulate. For me it ranged from day 18 - 23 (much more than the general predicted 10 - 16). Basically coming off the pill your symptoms will probably just be similar to what they were before you went on the pill ... if you can remember! It was a very long time since I'd not taken the pill, so all I could remember was that PMS was really bad and lasted a week each cycle ... but coming off the pill I only got a couple of days of PMS and AF wasn't nearly as bad as it had been ... maybe it would have got worse if I hadn't concieved! All the best!
