Well...im sitting here once again, god i see this screen more than my husband  and was thinking what do other mums do with their time.
Do you work, study, or are you a SAHM. I think a lot of mums would love it if someone took the time to ask them how they are what they do.
Well here is your chance. Let's tell everyone what we get up to.
I guess I should start.
I am on maternity leave from my full-time job as a Mechanical Drafter.
I am thinking of resigning soon cause I do AVON from home and I have just started up a home based business.
I will be selling custom made nappy cakes, gift baskets and hampers.
I don't want to put my bubba in daycare just yet so this is the best way I can work and still be with her 24/7.
Now your turn.....
I am on maternity leave rite now n i will return bac to work but not to sure when yet but
im a department manager at Target (Toys, sporting, sound n vision)
I run my own company. When we finally have a bub I will take a break and then work a couple of days a week. I have a really good PA so that should work well. DH also has his own company so between us we should be fine to work a couple of days a week and be with bub the other time.

I am a full time working mum. I'm a Purchasing Officer for an Engineering company. My daughter goes into daycare while my husband and I work so we can pay off our 2 houses and set our daughter up financially for when she is older. (house prices are crazy now imagine what they will be in 20 years time :( )
When we get home from work we spend as much time with our DD as possible as she is our life. I take her for her swimming lessons every Saturday which she just loves. We are planning for our next baby.
I'm a SAHM and proud of it. When I was working while I was pregnant, I never thought I would have the opportunity be able to stay home with my child and watch her grow and learn. After she was born I was delighted to discover I wouldn't have to go back to working. Yay! I'm now able to stay home with her and will go back to working part time when she is is of school age.
As the 4th of 6 children to working parents I always felt that my parents didn't get to spend enough time with us kids and I didn't want that to happen with my family. And as Bug is unable to see much of her father, I preferred for one of us to be in her life full time and that meant ME!
Some of you girls are soooo busy, I feel guilty my lot is easy, and I have no kids!! I have a few different things... I am working casually at the mo, packing mushrooms. My husband has his own business and is flat out, I do all the office work for him. I have a part-time catering business (I used to be a pastry chef), mainly doing weddings. But we also have 15 acres in Baldivis-a small hobby farm, so someone has to be able to look after the animals-that's me. We live in the shed (a large one) while building our house. I am having a beauty salon built into the house (I am a beauty therapist also) so when bubs is born I can work from home.:ecomcity:

At the moment I am a SAHM. But will be going back to work at a bottleshop my DP manages, next week. This is mainly for spending money for our holiday at the end of the yr. Also because I am getting bored, and would like to go to a baby-free zone for a couple of nights a week :D

I'm haven't worked in a year now (at least not for money ;) )

I also do a lot of volunteer work;
I help run a local playgroup, I co-ordinate the local safety house program (safe houses for children in danger), I help on the school's P&C and I help with a committee on Inclusive Education.

I work 2/3 days a week as a nanny for 21mth old twins and get to take Elijah with me so it's all good, just a bit hectic at times. DH works 2 days a week at IKEA as a storeman but trying to get his band up and running - when they get a new drummer.
I'm happy being a SAHM to my 3.
I'm planning to go to Uni in a couple of years (2009) to study Nursing, with the aim of being a Midwife (I think it's 4 years all up)
Once Austin is a bit older I'm planning to start doing a bit more with DS#1 school and maybe some other volunteer work. I'm kinda just going with the flow at the moment :)
I just started maternity leave, which isn't really leave since I am not going back.
I used to be a marketing manager for a funeral home but I quit due to a psycho boss and got an eight month contract as a PA and found out shortly after that I was pregnant, which worked out amazingly well.
I also teach Puppy School on Sunday afternoons and study at uni through Open Learning, but both of these things are on hold for the moment while I wait to have my baby, due in a couple of weeks.
I am also a graphic designer so I have a couple of projects to do for my old work over the next couple of years, but I am doing this through my own business name, which I have to register.
Apart from that, I am planning to be a SAHM for the next two years or so, just doing the graphic design stuff and the puppy school.
When I go back to work in a couple of years I am planning to go back to the funeral industry, not for the psycho though, obviously!!
That's the plan, we'll see what happens. Right now I feel like I am in limbo land!

I'm on maternity leave at the moment (I am an editor for an online business and finance news service) so I plan to enjoy being a SAHM until at least May next year. Then it's back to work and DH becomes a SAHD - well that's the plan anyway!! Who knows?! I may change my mind.
I'm a SAHM and I wouldn't work if your paid me!:p
Although I was working before I had DD3 as a Patient Care Assistant thru a nursing agency and I've started my nursing degree. Because my DH works away and I don't have anybody to help with the kids and as I've spread out having the kids I'll have two at high school, 2 at primary school, it really is difficult to get someone else to collect them from school, do after school activities etc. I won't go back to work till my youngest is almost out of primary school.
I work full-time in an academic library and planning to start my maternity leave just before my wedding in december. can't wait! been working full-time for 8 years now and i did my degree externally at the same time so i'm ready for some at-home time and looking forward to hanging out with friends who are mums!

Last year I worked as a teacher part-time teaching pre primary but gave it up this year as I didn't think it was fair on the kids. They are only young for such a little time and before you know it they are at school and we will have heaps of time to work. We survive on one income, the extra money was nice but being their 4 the kids is more important for us now. After all the horrible things that happen I want to spend as much time with my kids and enjoy them while I can, life is too short. When they both are at school I will either relief teach or try and use my psychology degree again. I am also going to study by correspondence now. I want to do natural therapies and emotional healing. Start up my own business helping people heal their physical, emotional and metaphysical lives. My hubby thinks it sounds airy fairy, crazy but i believe and have faith in the alternative lifestyles. Too many things can't be explained by western medicine.
I was quite impressed at how much SAHM actually can acomplish ou guys make me proud to say I am a SAHM

I stay at home and look after our lil man, who is my partners 2 year old son from his previous marriage.
We have him a few days through the week and instead of putting him in daycare we have made a drastic lifestyle change so we can spend as much time with him as possible.
We have our own business, LOML does the 'tools' and I do the books!

I have a 9 month old DD, i work 3 days a week, although i am currently on a full time 5 week contract for my work which is a HR - Recuritment position, i also organise Rural Placements for my work so on call 24/7 some weeks and i am also starting to study again next year! Hopefull when we decided TTC #2 i would like to take a full year or two off!
I stay home and take care of our children and the house! Me and Dh both like it that way..I would find it really hard to be away from my kids.

I teach yoga and dance classes including private lessons where I go to people's houses. I teach kids classes too so these classes I take my kids to and they love it. I also teach some mums classes that kids can come along to so again great for my kids. I also do massage, aromatherapy and beauty therapy and make my own natural skin care. I try to work around the kids for those appointments so it all seems to balance out.

Hi Ladies:wave:
I am a massage/beauty therapist & work in a very busy day spa.
I plan on finishing up in December this year to have the last few months of being pregnant to myself!
My mum was a SAHM because my Dad left us, so she really had no choice. I loved having her home evryday & even when i went to school, it was so nice coming home to my mum.
I plan on being a SAHM until my kids go to primary school then i can go back to work part time or i am even thinking of starting my own day spa.....
My DH is in the Navy & we dont live near any family so i think its important to have at least one parent around all the time! And plus with no family to help it will get a bit hard!
Hats off to all of you ladies doing what you do:hugs:
Love & Light

i'm on maternity leave until april next year but i am still working 2 mornings a week at home for my boss doing the accounts for the business. it's hard especially as my lilttle man requires so much attention...but i wouldnt have it any other way.
i'd love to be able to give up work until he was old enough to go to school but with the way things are atm with interest rates etc it's kind of hard.

Im a SAHM. I do take calls during the day for quotes as my partners owns a tree lopping business.
I'm a SAHM and love, love, love it!
Before that I was a paramedic and before that a highschool teacher.
I still occasionally teach some senior first aid courses, and I do some freelance writing for a bit of extra cash.

I am a very, very happy SAHM. Life is just too short for me to be away from my kids, and with my eldest 2 (i have 4 boys) at school, I do heaps up at the school, and take my younger two to playgroup, and out to visit friends etc, etc, really busy life, and I LOVE it. My mum was SAHM, and I have the most wonderful, warm memories of her always being there, of coming home from school with a yummy treat waiting for us. I really want to give my kids the same wonderful childhood, filled with love and smothered with attention and affection. By the time my youngest goes to school, I may think of going back to work part time, but by then, I would not have been working for 14 years!!!
