Iwas pondering on my kids height they are going to be extremely tall at least over 2metres my son is about 123cm 3yrs old 19kg other son is the about 94cm but is only 8months old the doc said they are going to be giants i hope they don't get to tall
will they grow slowly over time or will they continue to eccelerate in short burst?

Every kid is different so its hard to say.
My DS was 57cms in length at birth & kept growing rapidly with everyone saying that by the 6 to 8mth mark he will slow down & start becoming "average".
Pfffffft
By 8mths he was already going into size 1 & now at 16mths he is wearing a size 2 & im buying size 3 in many things ready to go as he still isnt stopping !
He definately doesnt get it from me but his Dad is tall being 6'5 so its obviously genetic so who knows where he will be come teenage years !
I just dont want to be beat up by my 5yr old as im only 5'5 !!!!

My little fella is only little. He was on the 50th percentile all the way till he was about 9months (he started having seizures then and I think that has slowed his growth). He's still mainly in size 1 and I'm hoping that he'll have a growth spurt soon as he's 26months.

I was told (it was probably on here - LOL) that if you double the bubba's height at 22months for a girl and 26months for a boy, you'll get their adult height. (Mental note to measure my son tomorrow!)

I'm only 156cm and my hubby is 178cm so people have said to us that we'll only have small children (unlike my brother who is 6'3 and his wife who is 5'10 - and their boys are tall). My mum and I don't agree with that, otherwise where do you get the fact that my sis and I are short a$$es and my brother is big (same as my dad and his brother).

I think girls grow tall quicker when they are younger and boys grow more in puberty (lord help me).

Going on the double their height theory, Jacob will be 187cm tall, Brooke will be 174cm and Matthew will be 184cm. But at the age of 8.5, Jacob is already 146cm tall, so I can see him easilly reaching that goal in the next 10yrs. I think he will outgrow me (154) within the next 2yrs.

My DD2 is in the 50th percentile for weight but the 80th for height. Alot of people comment on the fact that she is gorgeous for a 10 month old and a couple of people have even attempted to place her sitting on the floor and about to walk away (she was only 5 months old at that stage and just turned 6 months recently). She hasnt quite mastered that skill yet and I have to remind them. I think the fact that she was born with a head full of hair thats just got longer and thicker also makes people think she is much older than she really is.

all my boys were around the 95th-97th percentile thingy on thier charts. Going by the double the height, they all should be around 210-220cm tall  I've told them I going to put bricks on their head to shrink them if they get over 190cm haha, their dads about 185cm

My 14 year old son is 3cm taller than me, making him 166cm! and still growing!

DD, I really should measure her, shes 27months. But I know she takes a size 4 shoe whereas the boys were in about 6 at the same age.

My hubby and I are both tall so it makes sense that the kids will be tall too.
My girl doesn't seem so tall at school - they are all big at school! though she is the youngest in her class.
My boys are tall - my eldest is skinny and is already wearing some size 6s
My baby is wearing size 1 and even 2 at the age of 8mths.
The clothes just don't last long....

I've been told the same thing by a few people, but i was told to double thier height at the age of 4  ...i'd love to know which one it is.

If it is the age of 4, then Jacob will be 220cm tall, LOL.

my father is 6 foot 6 i am 6 foot 3 and my brother is 6 foot 9. we were always tall, but it can come later in growth spurt. when i was about 11 they sent me to some sort of specialist in height and basically there are medications but they are not recommeded as the side effects can be worse than just being tall. sure i get the comment gee your tall...but heah its not that bad. my son looks like he will follow our genes and it does not bother me.

i am 5"7 in height and my dh is only 6"2.

my dd is 10 months and has been long since birth. she is consistantly in the 97th percentiles for height and is wearing a combination of 0's (mainly shorts), 1's and 2's
i find that a lot of the larger sizes fit her in length but are too big around the middle so i sew a piece of elastic in the back to make then fit better.

Yhe second link at the site that I gave earlier said that as DS1 is above the 97th percentile, they are unable to estimate what his final height will be. But as his height has stayed steady since birth, if I keep following the line along in his blue book, his height at the age of 18 should be.............193cm.

My DS is 4 in September and is pretty tall for his age (have not measured him for a while) and is about 22kgs. He has always been well over the 97th percentile line. What worries me is his shoe size, as he is now in a size 13 shoe.

My son was 52.5 cm at birth and was 62 cm at 7 weeks. He is already in (and nearly out of) 00 clothes for lenght....his weight is only average, but his length is top 3% for his age. I'm having him measured again next wednesday...

I'm short, but my hubby is 6ft2in. The CHN said that Oliver will most likely be 6ft3in or taller, esp if he keeps growing like he has been.
