Following on from the "I'm only human" thread... I thought we could all share the flipsides as well. Times when we've been FANTASTIC Mums. :)

Here are some of mine.

I have had dinner prepared and in the slow cooker before the kids finish breakfast.

I've taken them for bike rides, done painting, made kites and packed a healthy morning tea.

I've talked reasonably and negotiated 'yes' with them.

I've really listened to what they say.

I've given them lots of hugs and kisses and found ways to make them laugh.

I've sat and read books with them in the hammock.

I've let them help me prepare lunch.

I've encouraged them, praised them, played with them and laughed with them.

I've used logical punishments for misbehaviour and kept my patience.

I've been quick with smiles and slow with frowns.

I've made delicious meals and had them ready on time.

I've kept on top of all the housework.

I haven't sweated the small stuff.

I've had guests and been a good host.

I've made time for myself.

I've made time for DH.

I've made time for God.

I've sung songs at bath time and read books at bed time.

I've ended the day sitting with them while they fall asleep, singing them a song, praying with them or giving them words of affirmation.

I've had a 'kick@ss' Mum day

Today - I have been ok. Not super mum .... but not the worlds worst either.

- I convinced her to have a shower :p
- She ate pretty well, played well, and we went to visit Nonno ... where she was happy and well behaved. (those were not my Mummy acheivements though, so not sure they count.
- I did a small amount of cleaning

Ohh I had a supermum day today.

I had gastro yesterday and I am breastfeeding..soo exhausted
But today was DS's soccer finale.

DH came down with gastro this morning, so I took all 3 kids and watched 3 hours of football in the rain.
I even breastfed on the sidelines:D

I then took them to see my gran who is 91 and we had lunch and I cleaned her roof.

Then I came home put DH in the bath, cooked carbonara for the kids and bathed and showered all 3 kids.

Cleaned the house, put DH to bed,
kids to bed and baby to sleep.

and only yelled once.:p

Yay for everyone :hugs:

I have had a yay supermum month....ive been on my own with Poppy with DH away at sea...
I have no family here to help either..just a couple of good friends who help out when they can...

Its been exhausting, tiring, fun, exciting & frustrating....

There have been many times when i have doubted myself & my ability to be a good mum, deal with everything on my own & be strong when DH is away...but yanno what?

I can do it

I managed to get my son to bed without the usual hassle, just by being calm (and a bit of bribing LOL)

I gave both kids lots of kisses and cuddles through the day and told them how much I loved them

Yesterday I didn't fret when DS insisted on wearing his pj shorts to CC - I just went with it.

The TV is always turned off at meal time and we sit at the table with ABC Classic FM in the background (although tonight they were playing 70s porn music on at dinner time :o )

Yesterday I dropped everything at about 3pm and took DS to the pool to have some quality mum & bub time :goodvibes:

Either DF or myself always have a bath with him in the evening.

DS has never had soft drink and the only sweets he's had is about 4 jelly beans. :D

I have been renovating, painting packing, sorting and cleaning all week. Have gone to bed no sooner then 1 am every night and up at 7 am.

I have still, made breakfast lunch and dinner for DS every day, played with him, talked to him and read and sang to him every night. He has been a really good boy through all the chaos.:goodvibes:
