my baby girl has new molars coming through up the top and countless times i have seen her shoving her fingers in her mouth and gagging alot. she makes a horrible choking noise. sometimes she throws up, sometimes she doesnt.
is it quite normal for a toddler who is teething to do that? it freaks me out
she's too young to have an eating disorder!! ;)
any thoughts?

mum to C who is 14 months
Its quite normal. Bug does it too. Trying to relieve the pain herself by putting her fingers in and vomitting just means that she is putting them in too far and triggering her gag relflex. DD used to do it to me all the time but now with 12 teeth thankfully she doesnt do it so much

My DD does the same thing. When she is doing it ALOT, I give her some nurofen which helps her and she stops doing it. It's becoming a bit annoying (although I do realise my poor baby is in pain!) as when I am feeding her she sticks her hand into her mouth after each spoonful. I have to hold down her hands with one hand and feed her with the other!!
I'm sure it will pass.. dont worry and I hope its reassuring that your little bubs isn't the only one doing this. :D
