Hi All

A friend shared this with me and I think it can explain some of the changes I noticed in bubs recently (I thought I was going mad!). Here is the link to one site but you can Google it as well

http://www.cyh.com/HealthTopics/HealthTopicDetails.aspx?p=114&np=122&id=2312

Here's a brief explanation from the site

"Recent research has shown that there are predictable times during the first few years of a child's life when the child may be more demanding (fussier) than usual. These fussy times have been called the 'Wonder weeks' by some writers, because it is during these more difficult weeks that babies are making big steps forward in their development.
Once they have taken one of these big steps in their development, they may have times when they are less demanding. These times have been called 'sunny' times. These cycles of changes in how much distress a baby experiences have been found to happen in many different cultures."

It will also help me if I think he's going through another change as I know it's only a stage and I know why it may be happening.

I'm also printing this chart off for my fridge as well. Hope it helps!:fingerscrossed:http://www.livingcontrolsystems.com/wonder_weeks/pg12_600.png

I actually have the book and it's an amazing read. The thing to take into account as well is when your bub arrived. If they were early then they tend to go through the WW later and if they were late they go through them earlier. So more in line with the actual age they 'would' be if they'd arrived dead on time.
The book has all the things you will see throughout each WW and different games and activities you can do to help them along the way.

Thanks Ushas - that explains a bit more with my DS who was about 12 day O/D in the end. I am going to see if one of our local libaries has it I think. It sounds like a great idea to be able to keep up with what they are discovering and how to change the way I've been keping him amused.

I was given this chart from my local CYH, i have it on my fridge. It's great as i can look at it & have an idea of when to expect the fussy times.

Yeah it's fascinating when you read the things that they may start doing or were doing that they seem to stop doing during these times while they're gaining new skills. It's like reading a description of my own bub at these times. And it's helpful to understand why.
