Hi all

Im inviting the parents over for tea. Its going to be a casual dinner party type thing.

Does anyone have some ideas for a menu?

I want it to have a main and a dessert with a varity in the meals.

Any ideas are welcome. Links to sites also would be useful. I am buying ingredients tomorrow so need the ideas tonight.

Thanks everyone!!

I love the Fruity Lamb Casserole I posted in the slow cooker thread. You can just make it as per normal in the oven. Here's the link http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/forums/showthread.php?t=14000&highlight=slowcooker

And for winter, I vote for individual chocolate self-saucing puddings - easy/peasy or some sort of fruit crumble with warm egg custard.

There's my cravings on display for all to see.

If you want a variety, how about a simple menu like:

-a simple pasta dish (garlic, anchovies, herbs, lots of olive oil, cherry tomatoes, parmesan)
- garlic bread and/or simple salad
-grilled beef sausages

for dessert, buy some brownies or big chocolate chip cookies, warm them up in the oven then put a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top or on the side. :) Nice with good brewed coffee.

Hope the suggestions help :)

:chef: suggestion's on two very easy, but totally yummy options!
Main: Chicken Thigh fillets rolled with cream cheese and mushrooms in the middle (use toothpicks) and roasted potatoes / sweet potatoes and greens.

Desert: Quick, easy strawberry mouse (punnet of strawberries, 2tbspn sugar, 1tbspn gelatin and cream) - simmer strawberries, sugar & 1tblspn of water in pan until strawberries are soft. Cool down, then stir through gelatine and cream.
Put in fancy bowls or glasses and chill for at least an hour.
Can't remember exact quantities, so pm me if you are interested.
