Not in that area, but across the sea and up a bit! When we moved I found google was really helpful trying to find information, local council sites for activities, google maps, if you needed accom there are lots of good sites to check out to get an idea of costs etc. One of the best I found was finding a forum that was local to the area that you could ask questions on.
With a 3 yo you will be able to meet others by getting into some type of pre-school or whatever they call it there program. Parks are another great place to meet other parents. You will need LOTS of wet weather gear in Wales :rain:
Also brush up on rugby (Brains Beer is the sponsor of the Welsh Rugby team!) and most of the team are called Jones, so that part isn't hard! Their accents can be incredibly hard to understand too!
I was fortunate that my husband moved before me so he used to send me heaps of information, photos, found a gym for me etc and that made the move a lot easier for me. Also get a car to get around and see as much of the country as you can while there - and stay positive, it's not easy at first.
All the best with it.
thanks LC Mum
Good point abut orum.. found one with heaps of info.So looking forward to getting into it.Will def get 3yo into nursery... pre school when we get settled need him to meet freinds aswell. And we all love going to the park... even though we have to wait till 6pm to go cause its way too hot where we are.
My boys were born in the middle east so def not going to cope with the rain and cold very well. But We keep teling them that it is an adventure. and the fact that postman pat lives there helps abit too. lol
Will be immersed in the Rugby culture. That is Dh passion so spose I might have to take some interest now and let him teach me whats going on. lol.
Dh company seem to be bending over backward to make us feel comfortable so if thats what the Welsh are like I think we will be happy there. Thanks so much for your reply!!!!
So are you living in Wales... or Ireland??
HAve a great day!!

Hi! Just checked this thread again. We are in Ireland, but about to move back to Oz. I will really miss living over here, so close to Europe and travel. It sounds good that his company is being as helpful as possible. We are currently watching Australia whip Ireland in the Rugby, shame they couldn't beat Ireland, Scotland etc!
Going by the date, you may have moved, hope it's all gone well, will check in to see how you are going :) :rain: It's freezing here today, only got to 2 degrees and foggy all day :( No wonder people go to the pub to escape!
ETA: I just saw another post of yours - I had a friend move to your last location about 7 months ago! She is struggling to adjust to the heat and still feeling a bit lonely. Her girls live in Germany so that makes it hard for her. Being Irish she finds all the sand and little green so hard to handle!
Hope it's going well for you in the new location.
Thnanks for the thoughts... I am Freezing!! am now living in a ski jacket and winter has just begun!!! lol. Good luck with our new adventure!! what do they say? a change is as good as a holiday.
Rugby was interesting.. Some good outcomes... some not so good for Wales... Oh well hopefully better in the 6 Nations.
On to your friend in Qatar... Poor her.. Tell her to keep her chin up. Is HARD to live there for the first 6 to 12 months!!! Very hard. After that... so lovely! If she is really struggling let meknow I can put you in touch with some AWESOME ladies, whom I miss incredibly. Just let me know. Once she has a network... sorted!!
Anyway good luck with the move!!! At least you are going to a lovely WARM climate... ahhh sunshine!! wll you be home i time for chrissy???
Enjoy!! and let the removalists do everything. lol
best wishes

Hi - How's Cardiff? I lived in Penarth and Sully for 5 years, and Cardiff city itself for 5 too, though I'm from West Wales originally, and now live in Perth!!!
:australia-flag-06: Wow!!! Nice to hear from you. We have just about exchanged lives. lol. Am begining to love it here.. We are actually living in LLantwit Major, on the coast... Ahhh love the coast. We are both from Perth and love it!!!! Doesnt get much better than there, But we are loving our time here. The Welsh are lovely and welcoming!!! Just got our oldest into Nursery and he is LOVING it!!! And have been blessed with a winter with snow so a HUGE change to the M.E. where we were for the last 4 years.. Are you loving Perth? How long have you been there for?? What bought you out there. Where abouts are you living??
Thanks for posting!!!
