Ok, My DD is 13 months. I'm currently having my second AF since she was born, the first was just before her first birthday when I cut down to just 2 breastfeeds a day. I knew when I ovulated for the first time since I had her (O pain - first time ever!) and then AF came 4 days later, so a really short luteal phase.

We then started TTC, and again I"m sure of my o date. I am pretty sure I conceived because I had all the symptoms I had with DD and the other time I conceived (which resulted in an early m/c), and already had morning sickness, more so than either of the other pregnancies. But then AF came on CD 10. It's now 7 days on and I'm still bleeding so I'm pretty sure it was another m/c although I'll never know for sure because I didn't test.

Has anyone had a problem with a short luteal phase after pregnancy? I've never had a problem with that before so hoping it will sort itself out.

I just did a quick google and read that short luteal phase is often caused by too much prolactin - prolactin is higher when you are breastfeeding so I"m wondering if that's the problem? DD only has 1 feed in the morning, but I don't have much milk anymore, and then a really short feed in the evening which she's not really interested in anymore.

I know many people do get pregnant while still breastfeeding, but if it's likely to be the cause of a m/c, I don't want to keep bf. I feel awful if I really did have a healthy fertilised eggie in there and my body just kicked it out for no good reason.
