we had ours christened but it was more for my inlaws then for any other reason
same reason we got married in the catholic church, it mattered to them and not to us (or any one in my heathen family) and im blessed with trully fantstic inlaws who are both unfortunitly getting on in years but i serriuosly doubt your letting your boys down!
We hald a naiming ceremony for our DS. We wnted to do someting special for him and have all of the family celebrate him being here. We had a friend who is a chaplin hold the ceremony (he also married us) and it was very personal.
I kno more people who do nothing then those who do. You wont be doing any thing wrong if you dont. But if you were looking for something non-religious a naming ceremony is great and you can do what ever you want for it.

Nothing. We may have him and the newby baptised when/if we have another one but its a big maybe. We don't follow any religion and it would be for family only.

I'm Catholic so didn't even think twice about it, and am just upset that she was baptised at 10 weeks instead of 6 weeks, but that's only because she was born earlier than expected

Christened. That's the term we prefer, but my local (Catholic) church tells me to us, baptise and christen are interchangeable.
We are religious but not strict. It was important for us
1. As a milestone
2. As a family celebration (like a wedding)
3. To welcome them into our religion formally
I haven't voted.
My DD was christened in a Catholic church...not sure what the difference is betwee baptism and christened, that's why I didn't vote yet :o

I voted Baptism, 'cos that's what it says on DS1's certificate.

Im against baptism/christenings so its a strong No from me. I didn't do the naming day either as it didn't really interest me at all.

There isn't any different. I think I voted Christening but then said she was baptised in the post lol they are they same thing.
We were going to have a naming day on my DS's first Birthday, but we were a long way from any family and friends at the time so couldnt. Maybe on his second birthday we will do it.

We didn't do anything.
My husband's family is Catholic and keep hinting we should get them baptised, (as all him and his bros and sis were) but they are only Catholic by identity, not in practise IYKWIM. My family are Christian, and do actually go to church and try to live God's way, yet none of us were baptised as mum and dad wanted to let us decide when we got older. All our kids have (unofficial) godparents though.
We christened/baptised (whichever term you prefer) our DD in a Catholic Church and will do the same for our DD2 soon. Our DD1 was christened at 4 months and DD2 will be over 5 months old.

Ok sorry can one of the mods please change the poll so that baptism and christening are together like baptise/christen, and votes put together. Sorry for the confusion. see i have no idea!
I voted other as we had a baptism but it was not in church.
DS was baptised at 3 days old in NICU, it was done because we unsure if he would make it through another 48 hours. The priest said a brief prayer and dropped some sterile saline water on his hat (he blessed it in advance).
We had no godparents present and I sobbed through the whole thing but who knows, maybe it worked...
I'm an atheist therefore I certainly will not be having a christening. I've never heard of "naming days" before?

Although it is the same for us Catholics, I am not sure if it is the same for everyone. :)
I think Mormons are baptised, not christened???

I booked it in before she was born, about 6 weeks from due date but she will be about 10 weeks by then since she was 3 week early
