A few days ago I started a thread asking if anyone could recommend a Naturopath for Jesse's asthma (mainly to boost his immune system so he's not as prone to attacks during Winter).
Anyway, I just want to let you all know that we're off to see the Respiratory Specialist at Monash Medical Centre tomorrow!!
My MCHN gave me the phone number to his office and said she's had great feedback on the way he's helped children with asthma.
I couldn't believe that we got an appointment so quickly...:fingerscrossed: he finds a way to manage Jesse's asthma.
I'm so excited...and to think there's no buying of clothes involved..

It always makes you feel better when people help you, help your kids (IYKWIM).
There are not to many things worse than seeing one of your kids sick. I hope you get the answers you are looking for. Must be very scary watching Jesse trying to catch his breath.
I am sure there must be some way you can incorporate clothes shopping on your trip out.

Well actually, on the way home I'm calling in to the shopping centre to pick up a dress for my Goddaughter's Communion that is marked down...
they're not supposed to hold it but I can be very lovely and convincing on the phone!:p

We're back!
We saw the Specialist (an Associate Professor if you don't mind!:D ) and it was the best $160 I've ever spent (the quickest I've ever spent it too but that's beside the point).
Jesse is now on a Seratide puffer 4 times a day for a week (he still has a bit of a rattle & cough), Ventolin and after a week he goes back to 2 times a day Seratide and Ventolin when needed.
The specialist also suggested that we purchase a nebuliser (and wrote a script for the Ventolin nebules) and keep that at home for when the puffer and spacer aren't achieving results....Thank God I found someone!!!
I've been arguing with our local hospital as to the effectiveness of the puffer and spacer versus the nebuliser - Jesse's had the nebuliser once and was 100% better within 20mins, as opposed to the spacer and Ventolin where he wouldn't be better until after 2 hours - why make a child suffer any longer than you have to?
I was also told that if I do need to take him to Emergency in the meantime, to insist that he's put on a nebuliser, give the specialist's name and that he wants his patient treated with a nebuliser...:smiliedance:
He wants to see us again in 4 weeks to see how Jesse is and review...this one's a keeper!:fingerscrossed:

Thats great news MD:smiliedance:
It feels great when you find someone who listens and can help!!!
Im on the seratide (have been for four years) and its worked great for me.
I also was told recently to give ds cod liver oil to help boost the mucus membranes in his lungs. And to give him Brauers homeopathic cough meds when he gets asthma symptoms to help reduce the severity of the cough and inflamation in the chest.Just an idea.
Good luck and I hope his feeling better real soon!

 Great news Mamaduke. That's great you got in with the specialist so quickly. I hope it's all downhill skiing for you now.
As an aside, I doubt it's the quickest you've ever spent $160. :p
