I want to buy my daughter (who will be 21mths at Christmas) some outdoor play equipment for Christmas. My question is though is it better to get the Hills type of swing set with swings, monkey rings, slide etc or to get that toughened plastic (I think little tikes brand not sure) kind of set up with a little cubby, slide etc. I'm sure the swing set type would last longer (as in the kids can still play on it when they are older not how it weathers) but my daughter prefers the climbing at the moment then swings when we go to the park or playland.

What to do???

Hi there ...

Not sure what you should do, but we recently bought our daughter a little tikes climbing gym - she is almost 24 months, but we probably gave it to her when she was about 21 months.

She absolutely loves it. Each day as part of our/her routine we have a bit of outdoor time ... (when it isnt raining). SHe quite likes the slide on it.

She has a swing already (one of the fisher price ones suitable from about 9 months), and I am not sure what we will do when she gets too big for it.

Hello
We bought our girls the sturdy plastic ones,(i think we got it from ToysRus - it is a hexagon) and we bought a separate slide. My girls are 4 and almost 3 and they still play with it. I guess the bonus is that they can play and climb by themselves, but with swings you need to push them most of the time.
We are looking into getting one of those wooden forts for Christmas. A bit expensive, but should get lots of enjoyment out it. (They could probably hide in it when they are teenagers!!)
