Hi Ladies
I am hoping with some advice I can pin point my ovulation period this month, can anyone help or share their symptoms?
My cycle is normally between 28 and 30 days, our first month of TTC we had an early m/c so my cycle was an extra 2 weeks. Last month my cycle was 35 days but I am thinking this was due to the early m/c the month before. I am hoping that September is our month so want to ensure we try to catch the egg... I don't want to take temps as I promised myself I would try to conceive naturally for 6 months and if nothing then will do the temp thing.
So, having said that... because I don't know how long this cycle is going to be, what body changes/symptoms must I look out for so that I can ensure a lot of BD'ing is done :yelclap:
Any comments would be appreciated ~ Thanks

Hi Jellytot
First of all let me say try not to get too sad if you have not conceived yet. It took me and my husband nine months and now I'm sixteen weeks preggo with my first....:D
I used those ovulation test sticks, which didn't really work like they said they would on the pack. They say that if the two lines are not the same colour, you are not ovulating yet. Well that's NOT TRUE!! I used those sticks over a couple of months and noticed that the second line was darker at the same time each month, but it was never the same colour as the control line.
I finally worked out that I ovulate VERY late in the month, and I used a combination of test sticks and physical signs to work that out.
Basically the biggest physical sign for me is CM. At ovulation, I got a LOT of CM and it was very stretchy and didn't break apart (sorry if TMI). So basically my advice is grab some of those test sticks and also check your CM.
If you want a more graphic description of what ovulation CM should look like, go online and you'll probably find a more detailed description.
Once we worked out when I was ovulating we had sex every day around that time and boom, knocked up!
Then comes three months of :barf:
He he, sorry, but BEST OF LUCK WITH IT ALL!:)

Congrats on your pregnancy :smiliedance: and thank you so much for your comments.
I tried to take note of my CM this last cycle but I had hardly any until about 3 days before my AF was due, it then went really runny and clear like egg white for a day. I was then a week late with my AF.
This month I am going to try my best to take notes of my CM... Do you get those sticks from the chemist? In the meant time will stick with BD'ing every 2-3 days. Hubby will love that :smiliedance:

Hello
I use temps to work out O.Saying that I had a trial run the first month and now we BD every second day from CD10 up until I get 3 days of raised temps (which means you have O'd).
I have not had any luck with working out CM, I would say that is because (forry for TMI) I find it impossible to know if it is `by product' of BD or my CM as we BD every second day leading up to O.
I do notice a very obvious rise in my sex drive in the day or so before O.
Maybe you could just temp for one cycle to get a rough idea of where things are at and then go from there?
Good Luck!
Hey there!!
CM is always a good indication on ovualtion, but like chickpea said it can be altered or confusing.
If you are willing, determining the position of your cervix can also alert you as to how close ovualtion is. If you are ovulating (or about to) your cervix should be low, soft (like the feelings of your lips), and slightly open. When you are not ovulating, your cervix should be high, hard (like the tip of your nose) and closed.
I found the ovualtion sticks did help me as well.
good luck with it all!

Thanks for your comments ladies - its always interesting to hear what other people do as our bodies are all different.
There is a lot of food for thought and I plan to take extra careful note of the body this month.

I tend to get lots of cm around ovulation and some cramping. My sex drive also increases.
Do can get the ovulation testers from the chemist - i have never used them so don't know if they are any good but many swear by them.
Otherwise i think your best bet is to just keep on doing the deed every 2/3 days.
Good luck :babydust2:

Hi JellyTot
I find that I get the most CM when I'm ovulating. It also has a consistency like egg-white. Doesn't break easily.
It actually sounds to me like you got pregnant that time when your period was a week late. That's what happened to me when we used the OV tests for the first time. I think I had an early miscarriage. That is very common on the first time around. And it's not impossible to be ovulating right before your period is due. That is when I ovulate.
Yep, I got the tests from the chemist. They are outrageously expensive. You get about seven tests per pack, which costs about twenty bucks. And I had to use almost three packs a month cos I ovulate so late.
But it's all worth it when you get the :bfp:
I'm sure you will very soon. :flowerz:
