If you have 3 under 4.5 what cars do you drive? Do you fit three carseats in?

I don't, but my friend has a forrester and all three kiddies fit in there, she has two boys (3 and 2) in maxiriders and a baby rear facing.

I don't yet but will soon
I drive a Holden Vectra (small to med size car)
and have just bought a 3rd seat for DS1

DS1 (4yrs in march)will go into a Infa Vario Max with Harness
DS2 (2yrs) will go into DS1's old Maxi Rider
D?3 will go into DS2's old birth to 18kg

and all 3 fit into my car
Its a bit hard to undo the Booster seat belt
but they all fit

Mine were 3 in 3y3m and we have a commodore(2000). Older two in maxi riders and DD2 in a safe n sound compaq. It's a bit tight but they fit fine. Oldest one is now 5yo.

i have 3 and i found that a baby car seat in the middle and a booster seat on either side of my commodore is a tight fit and takes a bit of getting used to,especially having your hand squashed when buckling the harnesses in on either side but bub is now 17 mths and we are still coping and getting faster at getting them all in.so to answer your question the 3 children fit in it's just a bit squishy....i would prefer the kids to have a bit more room in the back.
When i win lotto:fingerscrossed: i will get a kia carnival or a tarago.:D

We have a Holden Zafira. We have DS1 (almost 5) in a highliner, DS3 (1) in a SNS compaq and DS2 (3) in a maxirider. it is a tight fit though.

I don't have any experience, but I remember a posting by TripleTime who had triplets in May. She did a lot of research and found that the late model Commodores were the best for her - she even took her measuring tape to the car dealership!

We have a Ford Territory and can comfortably fit 3 car seats.

When ds was first born we had dd1 (4y.o) in a maxi rider II, dd2 (2y.o) in a sns Meridian and ds in a sns capsule that we hired.

When ds was too big for the capsule, we moved dd1 into a sns pegasus, dd2 into the maxirider and ds is in the meridian. There's a bit of room between seats too.

I had 3 under 3 (with two in capsules) in a 2002 Toyota Camry and it was a tight squeeze!

Got easier once we turned their carseats around and all were forward facing.

I also know of triplets in a Subaru Forester, they all had Compaq car seats...

So go to a baby shop, and try out varying models of carseats (to suit ages of your children) in your car to see if it'll fit together.

We just bought a hyandai i30.We wanted a car which was economical to buy and economical to run (two big ticks here) and fit three carseats accross the back. We took it up to a baby shop and tried some seats in the back, it fits three accross the back. It's roomier than it looks.

We had 3 under 2...and had to upgrade from our forrester to a Kia Carnival - fits three seats (3x maxi riders) in across the middle row safely and non squishy - or you can arrange them however suits...and also leaves room for friends, family or other kids!

The car issue is the biggest reason we haven't got 3 already. We just can't afford a bigger car at the moment.
I'll be keeping an eye on this thread for ideas... coz i really don't want a big ugly ancient beat up commodore (no offence)

We have a 2006 Holden Crewman, and we have a Hi Liner, Aunger Reversable car seat, and a Maxi Rider.

It is a tight squeeze, and LOOKS a tight squeeze, but we actually measured the backseat against my brothers Ford XR6 and it is the same width. But my car is TERRIBLE for leg room in the back.

Next July I'm getting a Ford Territory.

We have a Mitsubishi Lancer, and have 2 boosters (hi-liners) and a birth-18kg seat. It's a bit of a juggle but they all fit.

We also have a Kia Carnivale for when I'm taking all 4 kids out. That's lovely... like driving an airplane. heaps of room.. HEAPS.

Though thinking I'll have to change the boys Pegasus boosters for more Hi-liners when bub #5 is born, so I can move Gab's 5 point harness seat into the middle of the back.

Hi,

We have seven children and no. 8 due in Feb. We currently have a Tarago and have 2 in full car seats and 2 in booster seats. We are still one seat short as a family but our eldest (15 y.o.) doesn't often want to come with us anymore. If we go away at all or have big days out we take our two cars which we need for luggage room anyway. With the impending arrival of no. 8 we are looking at a Toyota commuter (12 seater).

i have 97 mitsubishi nimbus. its a 7 seater, so there's 2 little seats at the back which can fold down. you can have three seats with anchor points in the middle row (though 3 seats won't fit all at the same time haha), and boosters in the back (no anchor points in the back row). its a neat little car. not the greatest leg room in the middle room, but my kids are 4 and 3 so they're still pretty little. and its cheap. for those like me who can't afford a new toyota prado or a ford territory, it works just as good. we paid $6200 for ours, so its pretty good.

Going from 2 to 3 we saved cash by getting an aluminium sort of horseshoe shape made to push down over the split in the back seats of our Ford Fairmont station wagon. It was $80 and saved us from having to upgrade to a different car - as we couldn't put a third car seat in the middle over the off centre split (strap just went down the split). It was a squeeze but we have 2 maxi-riders and a safe n sound convertible seat in there (and the capsule before that).

With number 4 on the way we have bought an ex-demo Hyundai Imax for $33k (diesel - more economical than our Ford - by heaps). It seats 8 and had 3 anchor points in the middle row. For $300 we got 3 extra anchor points put in the back row and now could have 4-6 seats depending on if you need to get your hand in to do up/undo.

I love the van - it has room for our double pram in the back and some shopping - and we found only the Volkswagon Caravelle and the Imax could accommodate 4 car seats and luggage. Goodluck with it...I thnk with 3 there are ways around getting the full on people mover. Depends what you want really, and if you plan to have more...

A Just recently brought a nissian pathfinder, which was recommended to me by a mother at my sons school who has 3 children and fits 2 booster seats in the back and a capsule in the middle, so thats my plan when this bub arrives. Mind you i have trialled it out for myself yet :o

We just bought a Hyundai Sante Fe 7 seater. It has 3 anchor points in the middle seat and 2 in the back. We have all 3 care seats across the middle seat though so we can keep the boot space.
I love it. I can be quite a nervous driver and was worried about driving a car bigger then what I was used to, but I LOVE it!!!

We have a Toyota Avensis which is a seven seater car but not designed well for multiple car seats.
I didn't want to drive something as wide as a Commodore.

We will fit three seats across the middle row in our car.

baby in Compaq Deluxe.

2 year old in a maxi rider.

4 year old in an Infa Vario.

We had to do the whole measuring of the back seats and measuring of the car seats.
