Hi everyone,

Well I've been browsing these threads for about half an hour and everyone seems really nice! I have never used a "chat" type of site before, and suddenly realised that it might be a nice way to meet some other mums, given that I'm a brand new Newcastle (well Lake Macquarie - but close enough) resident, and brand new stay at home mum.

I've just moved up here from Sydney (lived there all my life), and have given up running my consultancy business to stay at home with my boys - Liam (4) and Bradley (16 months). It has been a bit of a shock to the system, realising that its bloody hard work being a full time mum (I'm used to people actually doing what I ask them to do!). And we don't know anyone up here, so its a bit lonely. We're used to socialising a lot, and now I'm craving some daytime adult conversation!

I'd love to hear from other "ex-professional" mums who have chosen to stay at home, as well as from any other mums in the Newcastle area. Its such a gorgeous spot up here, I'd love to catch up for a play date in the park or something.

Cheers
Kirsty

Thanks for the welcome everyone! Feeling like I know a few more people now.

Its going to be a great day today (not). My 16 month old is vomiting everywhere (managed to get the whole car yesterday afternoon). Any tips on keeping lounges vomit free? (He just wants to be cuddled!).:barf:

Hi there, you responded to my first post (thanks) and thought I'd do the same. I'm not really an ex-proffesional but I did used to work full time and staying at home is definately a challange. I'm not sure if it works but I've been told baking soda & water gets stains off, but please test it somewhere else first I dont want to wreck yr lounge on an old wives tale.
cheers.:)
