my little Elliotte is really sad and seems unhappy and in pain, she is asleep now but wakes up crying:confused::(

Now I'm not wanting to label our little sweetheart so soon, but I want to see if there is something I can do to make her life easier.

SO I'm breastfeeding and my little sweetheart is a bit spewy after I feed her she always chucks a little but she is only 2 weeks old and has chuck probably 4-6 times where she has so much to chuck up that it comes out her noes... sad:no::(

Is there something I can do to make things better food or positions/burping???

The best advice I can give is for you to avoid foods that make*you* gassy, as that can pass through the breastmilk and make your DD gassy. Plus, double check your feeding position (call the ABA... they'll be able to give you some great advice) and keep bubs upright after each feed for at least 10 - 15 minutes. If there's air in there, it'll either come up in that time, or pass further down and get farted out.

Burping, farting etc is a very odd sensation for the littlies until they're more used to it, and some can be quite upset by the sensation for a few weeks.

Yeah you cant truly label her too much at this point unless she is becoming sickly iykwim because really all babies are unsettled, spewy & uncomfortable for many weeks ... They are trying to grow & take in loads of milk which often leaves their system having a freak out & their poor little bodies are small so their bowel gets all bound up & restricts them causing wind pain etc.

Try feeding her in the football hold as this often comforts a lot of babies as they are more upright but you may also find she prefers laying down & feeding so its often trial & error.

Keep her upright after her feeds to help with the spewing so try to change her nappy before a feed so that you arent having to lay her down iykwim. If you do have to change her after prop her on a towel so that she isnt totally flat. Also make sure anything around her waist nappies included arent tight & restictive.

Try a nice warm bath to calm her when she is really bad as that can relax her enough to allow her muscles themselves to do so meaning it will be easier for her to pass any wind that is binding her tummy. Otherwise a massage or even just popping her across your legs so that her tummy is being pressed against as this too can help the wind move & also give her some comfort.

AS for your diet that is something to watch as sometimes foods can cause tummy upsets but also if there are intolerance &/ or allergy issues. Try keeping a diary of what you are eating & when she is having the worst times etc & see whether there is a pattern or otherwise you could just start by taking out the few foods that tend to cause the biggest issues such as wheat & dairy ... But also remember that sometimes it can be a food that you wouldnt even think of causing an issue !

Good luck !

Sofia had similar problems when she was little, and it took me a long time to figure out the worst culprits ... in our case it was anything with a high sugar load - things like lollies, dried fruit or cakes would put her into considerable discomfort.

I also had a lot of milk and we thought she might be having issues with too much foremilk, so before each feed I would express off a little, to encourage her to get to the hindmilk quicker. That seemed to help a lot.

Later on (when the eczema came :gloomy:) we found out she was quite intolerant of wheat products also.

Not wishing any of this on you, of course, but just some ideas of things to examine. Hope Elliotte is feeling better soon!
