... bubby is in bed having a protest about being put to bed, doing a bit of a cry, but nothing to be overly worried about.

3 minutes into the crying, there is silence mid cry. No winding down. Just suddenly silent.

Its unsettling, but I fight the urge to dash in and have a look. I wait a couple off minutes and then slowly open the door and have a peak inside.

Bubba is lying completely motionless, eyes open, staring at the door.

My heart beat spikes and I open the door fully and rush towards the cot.

Bubba comes out of his relaxed trance, sees me, and starts screaming again!!!!!

WHY oh WHY couldn't I have just left him alone!!!! Now we have to go through the whole settling process again, when he was probably just another minute of quiet time away from drfting off to sleep!!!!!

I'm thinking now this nap is a total write off because its 4pm... I may as well get him up, bath him and put him to bed early...

Bugger! I was looking forward to this nap!

bubba is now up and happy as larry playing with his towel... I'll delay bath time as long as I can, before he gets cranky again. Right now he's a bit relieved that he's been allowed out of bed!

But I'm putting him to bed early tonight! I need my break from him, as much as he needs his sleep.

Great mumma arent I! Bubbas naps are what get me through the day!

I agree.
I also hate it when they are absolute terrors all day and then they give you a huge big smile and think that everything is all good again. Usually they're right! Little buggers!! :)

and then u get them up and they giggle at u, like... hehehe i won..
u should set up a video camera if u have one, on the night time setting and watch what he does for a few days (just before he falls asleep) might give u some idea of whats going on with out disturbing him!

i did it for a few days. as soon as i left the room, i saw on cam that he started tossing his head to the side trying to go to sleep, but still whinging. when i walked in he would get all exited and look wide awake!. cheeky bugger

If DS is having a grizzle about being in bed, and is then suddenly silent....

...it usually means he has put three fingers in his mouth and one up his nose! (That being his preferred settling position)

Cheeky little things arent they!

DD does the same thing except when i go in to check on her she's got her eyes wide open and is smilling at me. She then starts whinging when i walk out and we start all over again .

LOL ANonnyMouse, i hope you've taken lots of pics of that.
