hei girls,
my 5mo went crazy last night waited too long for me to prepare his bottle. He got so worked up, took me ages to get him back to sleep.

i have a flask with hot water, formula dispenser, and half-filled bottle with cooled water on the bedside table, so when he wakes up for a feed, i add the hot water in the bottle, pour the formula, and the bottle is ready. probably take less than 30 sec but my son went hysterical could'nt wait any anger. I've tried the microwave, but it's taken as long if not longer..

so what do you think is the fastest and most efficient way to prepare bottle for night feeds?

what about bottle warmer? what brand heat the bottle in the least amount of time?

Does he drink the milk at room temperature?

You could just use the water in the bottle and put formula in once he wakes up.

May not be helpful but our DS drinks his formula at room temperature (apparently breast milk is room temp so there's no need to warm it) and he's used to that - so I have have to add the formula to his bottles.. so much quicker! Might be worth a shot?

That is the only bottle I premake.

I put it in the microwave on the way to DD's room, then get her out the cot, re-wrap her and by the time that is done, the bottle is warm. (I feed her wrapped at night).

If you mix it enough afterwards there isn't going to be any hot spots.

I'm still half asleep and have to make sure DS is awoken either so that is why I make that one up before bed, the less fiddling the better.

I agree with the room temperature answers. Then you just have to add formula and shake.

i prepare all ds 2 bottles for the day/night and store in fridge. i heat all formula in microwave.
at night i go to kitchen heat bottle, put on lounge, go get bubs and then feed, burp, change bum if needed and then put back to bed awake to self settle. which he does not worries.
bottles warmers to slow for me as takes few mins to heat. i brought the avent one fir ds 1.

I put cooled boiled water in the bottles and leave them out for the day..when its a cold day i usually pop them in the microwave for 30secs to take the edge off..ive tried less times but i find it still a bit cold..once the weather heats up then it should be okay to just put the formula in without putting it in the microwave first..
A friend had a bottle warmer i remember her buying this when we went to the baby expo but she said it took so long to heat it up she just popped the bottle in the microwave..

For the first few weeks of life I would get up as soon as they cried throw the pre made bottle in the microwave then go to them - never had a problem with them not settling after.

Only lated a couple of weeks then I stopped warming bottles - seemed pointless.
After that I would have a bottle of water on the kitchen bench and I would just go and throw the formula in.

I agree with all the room temperature answers. If bubs is only used to room temp bottles then your life is a million times easier in general. When you go out you don't need to ask for hot water to warm the bottle. Just add powder shake and go go go. Winter can be a bit chilly so I add 30mls of boiling water to 150mls cold water to take the edge of it but that is all. I am lucky though as I don't do night feeds (she sleeps from 10pm to 8 - 9:30am) and I wake her to feed her most times so I am always ready. Guess I'm not the best advice for you then.
