Hi Ladies,
I know this is a cloth nappy forum but I was wondering if anyone could give me some material advice. I was looking through ebay and found some cute bibs with "Happy First Father's Day, Daddy" embroidered on them. I didn't like the cheap fabric though. Looked like the thin cheap terry you bibs you can get that aren't very absorbent.
I got talking to my sister who said she'd make me some bibs and even do some fancy embroidery on them if I find and send her some fabric. I need more bibs and want to do them on the cheap.
Any ideas where I can get some nice fabric? Or what type to get for a little boy? I like the pumpkin patch bibs and the cotton on bibs?

Thanks in advance for your help. If only I could sew or had any clue about sewing... I'm much more talented in the painting/ photography way.

hey,
my grandma made a couple of bibs for ds she made them with polar fleece on the back and a cotton printed material on the front....they are great and are still in use now (he is 16 months now ) they have been used heaps and are still fine!!

i also think that a t-shirt type material would be ok on the front (like a jersey knit)
backed with polar fleece

hope that helps !

Thanks heaps, I'm hopeless with all this sewing business.
That sounds like a good idea. Might go and check out spotlight this weekend.

I have some bibs that I made with 2 layers of flannelette on the back and a layer of cotton print material on the top. they are great and you can get a variety of colours of flannelette for the back and there are lots of fun cotton prints available from spotlight.

I didn't have access to a snap press so I used the packets of metal snaps you can get from Spotlight - they come with a little metal bar that you use to hold them in place and give it a bang with a hammer. They work really well - although I'd prefer access to a snap press!!
