What did/do you do with you Baby Bonus??

I am about to recieve my last payment & im sooooo stoked with my efforts... i have managed to save $3000 of it for DS that i put into an account for him :smiliedance:
the other $2000 was spent on extra's fro DS, prams, toys & we also went to QLD for a week to visit family :p

im pretty proud that i managed to save that much for DS whilst being a single mum who doesnt recieve any child support :)

Im saving mine... i havent had the need to spend any yet... dont know what i am going to do with it but it will definately be used for the twins!!!

I always wanted to save it and put it into an account for the kids, but then with having twins that idea went right out the window, along with my small lancer that wouldn't have fit two baby seats and a double pram.

So we bought a new car (second hand) and used the $10k to pay off a lot of that. *sigh*

Paid bills and continue to live/shop/whatever while I was on half pay from work.

My ex DP and i got a $6000 loan from the bank before we had DD so we could get everything that we needed, and we used the baby bonus we got (this was in 2006) to pay off the majority of the loan and get the last little bits and pieces that we needed for her... we didnt save any of it, and i wish we had of coz we needed it later on.

i used $3000 to go towards buying our car, a bit for gifts for our doula and other people and the rest is now going to our moving fund!

i saved it all and am continuing to save my bum off so i can give lochie a private school education and hopefully a couple of trips overseas... as a single mum with no child support its not always easy but once it goes into a seperate account i refuse to draw on it and pretend its not there... im sure im the only 28 year old around that would like the interest rates to go up!! i hope to have enough in the future that the interest will pay for his education each year............

I wanted to save it and put it onto a bank account for both but my xdh would not let me and it got used to but things and pay off cc.:rolleyes:

I gave it to my brother. He was in Canada at the time and broke and I wanted him to enjoy himself!

With dd's we put it all in to a bank account for her. Knowing i was putting all the payments that we got it i so how saved double it lol.. I rang centrelink to make sure we wasnt getting paid extra haha. But no we wasnt i didnt know df was going in there adding extra money haha

I am going to saving it (along with saving half of my maternity leave over the next few months) and this money will go towards helping with the family budget when I am on "leave without pay". I have also included in this budget money for the baptism and also we are hoping to go to Noosa next christmas (end of 2010). So i guess you could say our bonus in going towards the Baptism and a trip to Noosa!

I used it to pay rent, medical bills, and to fly home to show off DD. It didn't even come close to covering my wages for the time I had to have off having DD..and I still had lots of bills to pay. The heating bill for the time DD was a newborn was $500 alone.

I used half of my $4000 in 2007 to pay off a car loan (private loan) - the other half my ex stole from my bank account and spent on drugs and gambling :(

The stimulus money went on relocating to get away from the same lovely man :yes:

Then this years tax money was all spent on paying for the stupid car to get fixed :D

I have a total of $14 to my name :(

i put my baby bonus into an account for my daughter, that was almost 2 years ago and i havnt touched it :yelclap:
not quiet sure what i want it spent on but i know its there if we need it for anything.

I don't believe in putting money aside for Esme in the future; I believe that having a rich and interesting childhood is more important. I'm building us a house so her baby bonus probably went on solar hot water, but if she asks I'll tell her it was the chicken coop and fruit trees.

I put my $3k towards buying a car.
My 4k went on bond on a rental, all the baby stuff i had to buy and to get rid of some debt.
