Okay, I am trying a few different things so I can earn some extra cash, in October we are wanting to go away on holidays, for our 2yr wedding anniversary.

I already, sell Avon and am starting up a baby and childrens clothing store. :)

Just wondering has anyone made much money selling 2nd hand clothes, on say auction sites etc?

i'd even say hire a table at a market- either a baby market or a boot car market.
i have friends that have done this and have made a good wad of cash- only fee is up front $25 to $50 depending on the market and everything else is in your hands- you can do clothes/toys even some of your homewares.

i find ebay is good for the odd thing but then you have ad fees and selling fees so if you dont make alot of money on a sale the fee eats it up and its afee for each item.
get a table and you can do much more for a lesser fee

Hi,
I sell a lot of new & secondhand baby stuff on ebay. Its worth it, but you have to do your research on the best way to advertise, that to write in the ad to make yours the best one and have time to hunt around for bargains that you know will make you a profit. Then you have to post the items to each individual customer, I am at my local post office A LOT.
Its a lot of effort, more than you might think. With looking after my DD, I only get time to upload maybe 6 items per day onto ebay, its slow going. But, in the last 6 weeks, I have made about $700 and of that I paid $100 in ebay fees. So, about $100 per week is my profit. Not great, but hey I need the cash anyway I can get it.

And I forgot to add, but its mostly name brands that gets the sales, correct?

Gymmummy- Garage sales and Markets, would only work as a once off thing as we live in the middle of nowhere. I was going to take tha baby and kids clothing that I will be selling there to see if I get any interest.

That is how I make enough income to be a SAHM. I sell 2nd hand clothing online and haven't looked back - make about $350 per week minimum on Oztion (Oztion don't charge if you don't sell like Ebay does and the selling fees are much lower). I don't exclusively sell brand name clothing either, in fact I rarely sell them at all as my niche doesn't require it really. I do keep an eye out for the colours of the season but don't stick strictly to them. I have a good eye for rockabilly and retro clothing and accessories so that's my niche, with chic office clothing now and then when I can find it. I also do a few other little things that ad up, a lady I met at the markets here in Brisbane who is also a SAHM runs a site with lots of ideas for making a side income her site is battlersunited

Good luck!
