I don't know what to do

My 5 week old DS2 cries all day long. The only time he is settled is if you hold him upright and the rest of the time screaming like he is in pain. Even when he is feeding he is fidgety. When I put him down to sleep during the day he sleeps for 10min and then wakes up screaming so I just have to pick him up and hold him. He has been like this since birth. At first I thought it was colic and tried all the colic remedies, rubbing his belly etc. Then I took him to the Doctor and they said it might be reflux so put him on losec reflux medication but he is still screaming. I know that he is getting enough milk because he has put on 1kg since he was born. The strange thing is he sleeps and settles well at night. As most of you would know it makes for a very long day when your baby will not stop crying and have a cranky toddler that wants attention. Has anyone got any advice?

I was going to say it sounds like reflux but you've already considered that.

How long ago did you start him on losec? It can take a couple of weeks before you can notice a difference.

He could have an intolerance to something. Is he breast-fed or bottle-fed? If you are breast-feeding you could try and eliminate some things from your diet. If he is bottle-fed he could be intolerant to cows milk.

If you are really worried, try and get a referral to a paeditrician. You will have more luck there than what you would with just a GP.
