View Full Version : Prolactinoma & Breastfeeding
I am currently feeding my 5 month old. I was diagnosed with a pituitary tumour in 2003 when my son was 10 months old and was put on dostinex. Since falling pregnant with my daughter i had stopped the meds and decided to feed her. Does anyone have or know of anyone that has breastfed with a prolactinoma? I need to go and have an MRI soon and have had conflicting advice on length of time to stop breastfeeding after a scan, some say no need others say 48 hours. I'm a bit confused
Hi! Re the scan, it would depend on a few things I think. MRI's aren't radiation like CT scans and XRays are, so I wouldn't have thought that would be a problem. It may depend on if they give you any medication with it, like injected contrast but I don't think they would with an MRI. (I guess you have had one before so you would know).
I would check with the place doing the scan.
