Hi Ladies,

Just wondering when you all turned ur cherubs around to forward facing?

DD is 7.5mths now and is still rearward facing.

She sits on the floor unaided and is now up on all fours rocking getting ready to crawl...

I dont think she is yet 9kgs which im pretty sure the handbook/manufacturer says to wait till 9kg...

What did you do? :)

Well considering its apparently much better to keep them rear facing (which Im sure you will get lectured on) I will simply just answer the question :p I turned DS around... hrmm maybe 6 months? Cant be to sure. I woudl gladly keep him rear facing however it was jsut way to hard with those straps in the way. I wish they would design it so they dont need the straps there lol

It is easier for sure. If its not bothering you though, I woudl leave it. Just for me the straps made it so hard for me lol

DD1 was about 9 months, she was in full leg casts and it was physically impossible to fit her in the seat as her feet were easily touching the back seat. besides her not fitting in it was actually dangerous due to the casts, if we had an accident or even stopped quickly the casts would have been pushed into her..

DD2 was 10 months, she was 12kg.

i HATED turning them so early but had no choice for either. an adults neck often can not with stand a car accident, a babies and childs neck is even more delicate.
it may be more convenient to have them FF but unless it is necessary due to weight limit, medical ect then what is the point ?? a little hassle to me is worth it.;)

DD is 9 months, 8.2 kgs, and I plan to have her rear facing til she hits 12kg, which is the limit for our Safe N Sound carseat.
She hates rear facing, but it is so much safer, so I'm going to stick it out... I found giving her a mirror helps, that way she can see me!

I turned DS1 around at around 6 months - as soon as I could! I think it was 8 or 9 kg, the minimum weight for forward facing according to my seat manual. (S&S Meridian AHR)

My seat can recline quite a bit forward facing so he was fine with that support.

It is SOOO much easier forward facing.

i turned her around 10.5 months as we needed to swap the car seat between 2 cars and DP having a hatch it was difficult getting in and out and accessing DD while in rear mode.

if he had a 4 door she would still be rear facing but you got to work with what car you have as well

but where possible wait till your child reaches the max weight rating or height limit

PLEASE REAR FACE TILL THE MAX WEIGHT OF THE SEAT

My little one is 9months and 9.5kgs..he will stay Rear Facing Till the Max weight limit for his seat as its the safest for him.

Stiff bickies to us if it's too inconvenient, its their safety were talking about!!
