View Full Version : What should I do?
I am getting married in 5months and that means I will have a 6yr old SS but the thing is, my soon to be SS hasnt meet my grandmother yet, we just found out that my grandmother has cancer and we not sure how long she has got to go. The cancer has spread a lot, there isnt much the dr's can do, anyway, I dont know if I should let my soon to be SS meet my grandmother?? He has already lost a pet brid and a dog, and his great grandfather (on his mothers side) died last month. I dont really want my SS to meet her then she passes away. What should I do??

That's a hard one.
When I was little I never met my stepmums grandma (who was alive at the time) - I wouldn't have thought to be introduced to be honest.
How often would your SS see your Grandmother? If it's only going to be a couple of times I wouldn't stress too much as at 6 he is unlikely to become to attached to her from a few meetings.
P.s. sorry to hear that your grandmother is unwell
I think little kids attach very quickly to something/someone.Yes they may get over it just as quickly as well but in the short term if they lost something they were attched to suddenly it could be devastating, particularly if they are very sensitive.
If it is terminal my personal opinion would be to hold off.
Good Luck its not an easy decision.
