Hi Everyone,
I'm new to cloth nappies so have started doing my research but I can't seem to find what I want.
I'm looking for a one size nappy with snaps. I dont like the nappies where the liner just snaps into the nappy so it sits of top. They seem to leak from what I've seen. So either pocket nappy or one with a cover would be good.
Also worried about drying time so would like a quick dry variety
Any ideas?
Thanks soooo much!!!!
Jenn :-)

i started out with AIO's (like BumGenius AIO and BBH Magicalls and Greenkids) which i found were good for pre-solid poos (i didnt start from newborn) and once she hit 6 months moved into Ai2's (snap in or lay in boosters).
other type that i started out with was BBB fitted with their pul covers which was ok and great for containment but worked out quick that i wasn't a fan of fitted with covers past 6 months.
all of those brands bar the GK come in snaps. tho to be honest i was in love with velcro in the beginning :)

depends what you like and how much you want to spend. also if you prefer aussie co's. have a look at happy babes website
- bumwear make a one size pocket
- happy babes all in one one size pocket ( pretty reasonably priced but has a velcro closure and snaps to make the one size adjustment)
- happy heinys make a one size pocket with snaps and cute prints :) most come with a booster included in price.
they can be bulky with the extra fabric to allow nappy to go from small to huge as bug grows. but you are right pocket is the wya to go if quick drying is important to you.
another thought is if you prefer pockets and like snaps, pea pods are so reasonable priced you can invest in a stock of mediums and when bubs ready replace with large.

I have a lot of different nappies but the bulk of our stash is bumgenius they are definatly a fav of mine never had a leak they are one size fits most so lots of wear out of them and they now come with snaps which i love. They are not on the cheap side but if they do a child all through nappies its not that bad, i also have a rumparooz which is also great maybe even a slightly better design that bumgenius as it has side gusset to keep in any explosions however it isn't an australian company
My fav OSFM are fluffybubs, abbygros & baby bullfrogs.
They are all AI2's, so they have the snap in boosters,, but I have 2 heavy wetting DS's & have never had a leak.
I would possibly say that whatever AI2's you've seen that leak, are either the wrong size or they haven't washed them enough, or have bought one that may not actually be good quality.

The AI2 that I saw I think was the fluffy bub one. It was a one size but did seem smaller than his other nappies. My thoughts were that the snap in liner seemed quite thick so it looked like it left a gap at his legs.
Might have to rethink using them. I liked the rumparoozs but they are $38. ouch.
We use mainly snap in AI2's and ive never had a problem with them leaking. I have had leeks from my pockets though. The nappy you saw was obviously over boosted, my 4.5month old DD wears Fluffybubs with both inserts and we haven't had a leak from them, I actually brought 2 more yesterday.
The benefit of a AI2 is quick drying time, and you don't have to try an "unstuff" a pooy wet nappy (really not fun), you can just undo the snaps (or if your lazy like me, don't bother and throw the whole thing in the wash)
As far as fitted and cover nappies go, I have Baby Beehind bamboo fitted, I find them great and use them as night nappies, however for my 4month old, I think there far too bulky to wear during the day.
My only OSFM pocket is a cheekybutt, and at $20 each (they always seem to be on sale for $20) its remarkably good. I refuse to pay $38 for a BG, they arn't worth that, and the only reason there so expensive is because of the dollar. I would stick to australian nappies, we have some great ones.
hmmmm, if it was a fluffybubs, I wonder if the booster was in properly? They can be a bit tricky if you're not sure how to do it.
I use it on my 3mth old & 15mth old & it's fits great on both.
What does your bub weigh & what setting was it on? maybe you need to put it to a smaller setting, so you don't get the leg gape.
Bumgenius fits all your criteria except it has vecro rather than snaps. Fast drying, pocket, OSFA. I used them from day 2 - day and night. I still have a few of them now and they still work great (need to be boosted with bamboo now) - DD is 8 months.
It's all a bit of trial and error....a lot of nappies I loved in the beginning stopped working for me a few months down the track.
Buying secondhand is a good way to try a few and work out what you like.

ps. i wouldn't buy a bumgenius unless it was brand new. you really do need that 12 month warrenty!!
katieinWA on the website it said they recently changed their elastic (before i bought some) so I am wondering if you have had a bad experience with the older type or the new ones? and was it with the elastic?
I have 3 as a gift for over 6 months (organic) and my others ive had 4 months and they are used in very high rotation, since they dry so quick and its winter and i havent had a prob with 1 *touch wood* I love love love them, but i do feel that the PUL doesnt seem to be quite as tough as the BBH type. Though the organic type seem to take ages to dry and not long to refill

Oh great! Yeah I don't mind the velcro, but it gets messy and looks tatty.
I must've been lucky with my elastic too.....I have the ordinary pockets V3 and have been using them solidly for 8 months now. I even used to put them in the dryer before I knew better!

maybe try Rumparooz? they are like the BG but with snaps. They arnt cheap either, but u might be able to get a discount code in the upcoming nappy hunt. They also have a smaller setting than the BG for little newborns.
IMO any OSFA pockets are expensive, but u wont need to buy in different sizes, so it will save money in the long run. (if using from sml to Lrg)

the ones i got were the BG AIO the previous version, not the OSFM BG V2 or V3.
i am still waiting on my replacements...mail is so slow arrgh but hopefully there is a difference between new and old BG AIO elastic
