hi girls well im just after a bit of advice on ittibittis......i am looking at getting some snap in type coz i figure the drying time will be quicker than aio's is this correct ? (my washing line gets very minimal sunlight)
any advice ? i wanna order them now but not sure what to do ???
also anyone know they drying time of babybeehinds aio's ???? looking at these aswell ?
TIA:sunshine:
I have some itti bitti sewn-ins and they dry really quickly as long as the sewn-in pad is hanging out (we have a court yard with minimal sunlight).
I find the BBH bamboo fitted take a little longer to dry.
I did have a couple of magicalls, and I found them slower to dry then the fitted.
I would suggest ordering one of each of a few brands. Not just for the drying time, but the fit issue. Several of the popular brands didn't fit my baby.

thanx , i thought the bbh magicalls might have taken a bit longer to dry (but am thinking of trying them coz they are pretty cheap at the moment)
do u think they take too long to dry .it sounds like u have same line set up as me !:)
should i not try them ???
Depends how many nappies you intend to buy. I don't have a complete set, so I would like faster drying nappies.
My major issue with the Magicalls was the fit though (I have a skinny baby). I probably would have kept them otherwise.

ok thanx for your opinion...i think i might not get the bbh magicalls coz ds is also pretty skinny (10kgs 16months size 00 pants)
i think i might get the itti bitti bulk pack with 3sewin in and 3 snap in its $160 is that a reasonable price ??(postage is free)

I think they had some on sale on the ecobambino site. I think there was some sewn-ins for $22 each, but you would have to pay postage.
You getting medium or large?
I'd like to get another 6 ittis, but my son is sort of inbetween (10.5 months, really long but thin-ish for his length - about 9 or 10kg).
The mediums fit him. I bought a large to try, but it's a bit loose around the legs.
It can be such a gamble with bulk buying.
I don't think the drying time is much different between the snap in and sewn in ittis - except you can throw the snap in boosters in the dryer and so have the nappy ready to use an hour or so after washing. You can also buy spare inserts for the same effect. Having said that I prefer sewn-ins becase I find the snap ins a bit bulkier and fiddly.
The magicalls take ages to dry - over 2 days inside (I don't get sun either). Theres a big difference in fit between the 2 - MAs are big and ittis are small. The MA is the last nappy I pick up becasue it makes DD's bum look too big. But it is completely functional - never had a leak and she can wear it for 5 hours.
The best bet is to have a combination of quick and slow drys - some to use first from the wash and others for day 2. But it really depends how many you are buying and if you want to wash daily.
I've only started recently in cloth so I'll share my start up experience if you'll excuse the essay. I could get away with 10 nappies at the start - DD uses 3 or 4 a day and I washed every 2nd day. I have 2 snap-ins and a pocket and I was having to use the dryer to use nappies straight from the wash. Then I got a spare insert from the pocket so now i use that straight from the wash (within an hour or 2 for the cover to dry).
Then I got sick of not having enough dry nappies and have bought a couple more. 12 to 14 will have me set.
I don't use them overnight. HTH

thanx Z
i am thinking of getting bout 12ish.
ive decided on the 6 pack of snap ins and then im going to get a midnight aio sewn in (from the 2nds for $20)
so $180 for 7 nappies that shou;d be ok i guess to start with ???
Have you actually used the itti's?
My DS is around the same size, 15mths & 9.5kgs & he can out pee an itti very quickly. They just don't work for us any more.
In saying that, you'll have lots of people who they work wonderfully for.
I guess what I'm saying, before you spend so much on the 1 brand, make sure it works for your bub.
Also, don't forget the nappy hunt starts next month, so there will be lots of specials around if you can hang off till then.

I am a big Itti fan but I would recommend buying their trial pack first before you spend lots of $ on a bulk pack. That gives you 2 nappies - a snap-in and a sewn-in. Also you could get one in a medium and one in a large. My DD is 14 months and weighs about 11 kilos and the mediums are still the best fit for her.
I prefer the snap-ins because they seem to hold more wee - they very rarely leak wee or poo on my DD. I think they are a great nappy, fit well under clothes like a disposable and look really cute in summer with just t-shirt.
I also have some magicalls which I use for night-time boosted with an extra trifold booster. They are a bigger fitting nappy which is why I'm not too keen on them for day time plus they take AGES to dry - 2 days in winter which is way too long for me!
Goodluck!

Havent read all replies BUT...
Buy a clothes horse, you know the metal thingos you can use on the patio/inside and stuff.
My line gets no sun but i chase the sun round the backyard with the nappies on the clothes horse all day :D Works great. Also have another one for bubs clothes, i dont peg then just hang them over because the pegs where making marks on bubs clothes and i am to slack to iron
If we have a wet weather day, i just hang the nappies on the clothes horse inside.

:iagree:i use a clothes horse too! not only can you chase the sun around the yard, you can also put them near the heater if the weather is horrid  to help them dry faster!
I defintately prefer the snap in Itti's - they are more fiddley but I find that they are more absorbent! My DD is 14mths around 10.5kgs and I use the medium - which are fine.
I would definately recommend a trial pack first to try before you buy in bulk (as each baby fits different brands better than others).
I also have some BBh magicalls and find them way too long to dry (2days in winter) - so so you'd need to have a big stash of them to allow for drying time to use them full-time.
