Hi Bellagirl

My DD is eleven months to keep her entertained we:

Go for lots of walks to the shops (they are very closeby)
Walks to feed the ducks
Get her to bird spot through the windows (LOL she loves this!!)
We also go to Kindergym once a week (fantastic)
Get toys from the toy library
Storytime at the library
Meet my mums group once a week
Play music and dance around
Read stories
Play chase through the house

Thats all I can think of for now:D

Hi Bellagirl

Yep DD is crawling. Kindergym is great, not too expensive and my DD loves the songs and crawls all around the place, its nice to have a chat with other mums too.

The toy library is also fantastic, they have all sorts of good stuff and it only costs about $20. At the moment I've got some huge soft climbing stuff for her, a little ramp and tunnel and slide, she is really enjoying climbing on it and I took it to mums group too:D

Sometimes just the simple things are the best - hanging out the washing, playing with leaves, sitting on the grass (not in this rain mind you!)

Hope this helps

Sometimes when Azalea seems to be bored of everything I run a big bath & hop in with her she'd be happy to stay in there all day if I let her.

DD's favourite game is sitting at the base of the stairs and catching the balls as i roll them down to her. keeps her occupied for ages but kills me when i have to then scour the lounge room for 100 plastic balls

My little one tends to follow me around why I do the housework! She doesn't find that borign atm. I either sling her, or she is just in the same room. We go for a lot of walks. To friends places etc too. And she comes to Yoga with me - and eventually I 'll get organised enougth to take her to a playgroup. I dunno - I find that there is so much to do each day, we don't have tiem to get bored!

We do most of the stuff that people have already mentioned, and generally have a pretty full week, but I usually set aside one day a week when we stay at home.

On these days I play with her in the morning, then after her lunch I get on with housey type stuff and just let her roam (of course I keep a good eye on her). I do this because I think it's important for a child to be able to entertain themselves also.
I have done this since Jade was able to sit by herself and play with her toys. When she was very little I would let her play and just sit behind her and watch.
Now she is older and a bit more mobile she goes around the house and creates a path of destruction. I don't mind cleaning up after that because I know that exploring her environment is important and letting her have some alone time is also important.
(IMO anyway)

Of course, I have a very open plan house, it's not like she is in a seperate room to me for the bulk of this time, so this works well for us. She'll happily play for an hour to 90 mins like this.

My youngest has started crawling too. He would spend the whole day chasing a ball around the house if i let him. He watches The Wiggles with his brother and likes to sit infront of the Dryer when it is on and watch it go around and around...
Every now and then i give him a few plastic kitchen bits to play with, like cups spoons, small containers. He loves it! But otherwise he plays with his brother and myself fo rmost of the day

I know what you mean, my DD has just started crawling so is much happier now, but it was so hard to keep her occupied and happy before that!

Most of the time i'm lucky cause she has an older brother to watch and try and eat his cars etc. But we did a lot of reading, playing, helping me in the kitchen etc, also hi-5, playing under her gym thingo and all the other things other people have already said!

Goodluck, lets hope she starts crawling soon so she can amuse herself a bit more!:p

I agree that the simple things are the best! My 11 month old DS has lots of toys too but he gets engrossed with the simplest of things--- boxes for instance. He loves empty boxes (cookies, crackers, nappy sacks), esp the colorful ones. He also likes empty plastic bottles, flipping through magazines and playing in clean laundry (while I fold).

Activities we do:
-playing with toys
-lots of crawling
-walking to shops
-bird watching!!!
-go to the park
-dancing and tickling
-we read a lot of books (luckily he likes it enough to listen for at least 20 minutes at a time)
-we watch Finding Nemo (he loves the turtle scene!)
-looking out the window (he loves this, we look at cars, dogs, planes...)

These are all I could think of at the mo :)

Hi there
DS is 11 months and this is what we do to occcupy our time
visit his little friends
playing in the kitchen with me while i do chores - he has a cupboard that he can play in with all the tupperware
He occupies himself really well - sometimes too well and i have to be careful on days when i am really tired as its tempting to just let him be!!
he loves books
we look out the window a lot at the trees and the birds
his baby swing is set up under our carport so we can still get outside for fun in the bad weather
walks
he LOVES grocery shopping
Laundry destruction!! i often leave some clean folded things in the basket for him to play with
jolly jumper
i actually let him play with our cordless phon e- i never used to but he loves it so much and i am "picking my fights" so to speak - i think the hot oven is more of an issue!!
fit ball - we love to bounce on that and have made a few songs up
we have a coffee table with drawers - again one of those is HIS so i change the toys and books in that regularly and he loves to explore, and open and close the drawer

i cant wait til we can get more into drawing and play doh - at the mometn EVERYTHING goes inteh mouth!!!!

Lisa.

Hi again i forgot a few things...
we go to water orientation classes on a saturday and he absolutely loves that - it would be his favourite thing. And we go to church most weekends and he loves the music, playing with the other kids and generally getting a whole lot of attention!
