I'm just curious at what age your child/children went from two day sleeps to one.
My DD is just over 12 months and still has two long sleeps a day. She also sleeps 13 hours at night. She is a baby who loves and needs her sleep and so I'm not going to try to change anything (I like the break, too!).
For the past few weeks though, she's gone down a bit later in the morning (about 11.00 instead of 10.30) and she's sleeping for a LONG time in her morning sleep - 2.5 to 3 hours. She'll be up by 2pm, but then ready to go down again at about 4.30. I usually wake her up by 6 and then she'll be in bed by 8.
I'm wondering if I should cut out her afternoon sleep if she keeps on sleeping this long in the mornings - but I'm reluctant to do so and would rather her do it on her own and in her own time. I've done it once or twice to see how she would cope and, well, she doesn't really cope at all. She still needs that afternoon nap.
What do you all think?
