View Full Version : Would you go to a BH meet if you knew some of the kids were non/delay vax
Im just wondering....
Would you, a vaxxer or non/delay vaxxer, go to a BH meet up if you knew some of the members from these threads and so you knew their kids vax status?
Would you not go to a meet up because of this?
Do you ever think of how your own childs vax status could impact on if others go?

I'm not really "into" the whole vaccination debate... I actually really couldn't care less what others do with their kids.
I vaccinate DD. She's all up to date (actually, she's not, she's due for her 4-year-old needles, but she only turned 4 on July 25... so it's not like we're way overdue or anything).
I wouldn't even really wonder whether others vaccinate or not so I probably wouldn't even know if the other BHers did or not... and wouldn't care if I did happen to know one way or the other.
Wouldn't bother me if the other kids are vaxxed or not, that's the parents personal choice. Only time it would bother me is if their child was sick with something that my children were yet to be vaxxed against(ie if someone had chicken pox I wouldn't go because DD2 isn't yet vaxxed for chicken pox).

Absolutely I WOULD go - in fact I think I have...
I make no discrimination of vaxx'ng and non-vaxx'ng.
In fact the only reason I wouldn't attend is if I was at work...
(Hmmm two question in the OP - both opposite???)

My child is vaxxed so I don't care if the kids he plays with are vaxxed or not.
I dont go anyway with all the bugs around at the moment I couldnt give a monkeys if the children are vaxed or not, DD is prety much in issolation at the moment anyway. She can not afford to get sick with anything weather it a cold a flu or gastro anything, What is a comon cold for one child and not a reason to not go out can be terible for DD so i simple dont go

I have & will continue to do so :D:yes:
We have our South Westie mum meet ups & there are a number of kidlets ( my DS2 included ) unvaxxed or selectively vaxxed !
No issue for us in any way shape or form !

I been to meets, I haven't asked the 'status' of the kids there... it isn't something that crosses my mind before meeting new people and their kids.
If the subject comes up, I'll listen to general conversation...it interests me but I'm not up for a debate at a playdate!! (I don't have an issue with either decision)
:goodvibes:
Yep I'd go. I have no idea which kids are vaxed at my kid's playgroup or when we go to soft play centres.

ballarat area, I can never be bothered travelling to melbourne meets because it takes too long relying on trains with a toddler who still has a nap in the middle of the day :p
one day soon hopefully.

I would go and not even think about vax unless I had a baby who was to young to b vaxxed and there was a wooping cough outbreak then like last time I would prob stay home cos u dont know who has it or whos vaxxed.

yeap i would still meet up with others who have children that arent vaxxed. i am not going to discriminate against someone because they do something different to myself in bringing up their child/ren

I'd go if i wanted to go, regardless of the vaxx status of children/adults.
The vaxx status of people doesn't even factor into my decision making for anything, not even a BH meet.

meh, i dont care.
my kids have played with the kids ally is referring to in her post and if i get my butt into gear they will again.:o
i know quite a few people who dont/selective vax and the only thime i ever think about it is when a conversation like this comes up not when im thinking im about to meet them for coffee or what ever
non vax and met other non vax and vax parents...never considered a vax status to be important

My little mum's group is all delayed- or non-vaxxers (aside from me)....and I have absolutely no problem with my kids playing with the other kids :)

Whether a child is vaxed or not has NEVER come into my mind when we go to BH meets, playcentres, pre-school etc...my DS can play with whoever he wants to play with...we don't discriminate in our family :)

I'd go without too much thought about it.
When the twins were newborn, we didn't go out much, to keep them protected from everyone, and all different stuff, not just vax preventable illnesses.
I am pretty sure there are delayed vaxxers in the group I meet up with regulalry - I don't consider them to be germ ridden children that might infect mine. I keep the bubbas away from any kid with a runny nose/temp etc, but I don't ask their vax status first.
I haven't met up with anyone from BH but it wouldn't bother me.
DD goes to playgroup, indoor playgrounds, childcare 2 days a week. I don't care who is vaxed and who isn't. I actually have friends who don't vax their children...I don't care as long as they are nice people and the children are nice to my child/ren.
