Party bag alternatives??

Last year I found sand buckets on sale for 50c each and used them instead of a party bag. They were GREAT however I am yet to find another option for this year that is different. I was thinking noodle boxes but all the ones I found were too small and then I thought plastic magician hats (as we are having a magician to the party) but I can't really find any affordable ones that aren't nasty as well as cheap....

I'm at a loss and will never find buckets for a reasonable price like I did last year and well I don't like plastic party bags

So anyone else got suggestions?

For my DD's party we had miniature gift bags that have a little tag on them, i got them at a cheapo shop for about 40c each and DD wrote on each of the little cards.

Filled them with mini note pads, pencils, bubbles, balloons, stuff like that.
