I'm only 22 weeks, and for the first time today I had this groin pain right up inside my right leg. It has felt like a dull continuous ache and has been ongoing now for 4 hours. It has settled briefly but the throb/ache is still there..........can anyone please let me know what this is and is it normal as I'm a bit scared and teary about it.:crying:

sounds like SPD to me - can't remember what it stands for, but it's to do with the ligaments in that area stretching and softening up ready for birth. It can be really painful, so talk to your ob or midwife who should be able to recommend some gentle exercise to help you.

I had something that sounds similiar in my first pregnancy. It probably started around 20 weeks or so. It used to be really bad when I was trying to get out of bed and off the lounge. Had to basically do those things with my legs closed tightly together and spin around and then stand up (if you can picture that)

Pretty much disappeared as soon as I had DD though.

It might just be ligaments.

DO NOT lift anything heavy under ANY circumstances. Take it very very easy for a while. Your ligaments are softening up so your pelvis can open. If you overdo things you will pull them too much and it will move your pelvis and then you will really be in the poo.

I was a bit of a hero a couple of weeks ago and wanted to be one of those tuff preggy women, but I really hurt myself, dislocated my pelvis and was flat on my back for a couple of days and could hardly walk.
